For a grande coffee in a grand city, look no further than Fondation Café. One of the new breeds of coffee shops popping up all over Paris, this tiny café offers big flavors, especially for those caffeine addicts who like to know their coffee’s origins and roaster. Sip on espressos from green mugs and tuck into tasty sweet treats from the cafe’s bakery supplier Broken Biscuits.
Café La Palette
Situated at the intersection of the Rue de Siene and Rue Jacques-Callot, Café la Palette is the perfect place to grab a light lunch, sit back on the front terrace and watch Parisian life pass by. Picasso, Hemingway, Jim Morrison and more recently, Julia Roberts have all been known to gather at the artistic café. Made up of two salons, the restaurant’s façade and larger salon have been registered as historic monuments. Meaning you get a piece of history and bistro dining for the price of one.
For somewhere non-food related the beautiful artisan boutique pharmacy Buly is a feast for the eyes. Located on Rue Bonaparte, petite bottles line the walls on heavy wooden shelves in the retro beauty haven that is full to bursting with old school soaps, creams, lotions and potions galore. Make sure to leave some luggage allowance for a scented candle held in marble or a delicate box of scented matches.
