Wide Leg Trousers

Skinny pants have held court for years now, and while a slim-leg will never go out of style, we’re making the case for a pant with a little more drama this spring. Spotted all over the SS15 catwalks at Saint Laurent, Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger, the wide-leg trouser can seem intimidating for everyday wear (how in the world could massive amounts of fabric be flattering?), but when styled the right way (the key is in your choice of shoe) the effect can be both flattering and sophisticated.

Take style tips from the fashion set by teaming yours with heels for added height and a longer-looking leg. Courts, peep-toe and strappy sandals all work well (or for a more casual option that’s more forgiving on feet, try a stacked sandal) and avoid extra volume by wearing trousers that fit high on the waist.  Time to trade up your skinnies.
