5 Hertford Street
5 Hertford Street is one of London’s most legendary private members establishments, with a long waiting list to prove it. Founded by nightlife showman Robin Birley, the club resides inside an 18th Century townhouse in the middle of Shepherds Market, and boasts two restaurants, three bars, a cinema suite, outdoor courtyard, and iconic nightclub, LouLou’s. Members of the Royal Family, business big shots and A-list celebs have all been spotted walking through the unmarked maroon door.
Another club owned by the Birley Empire in the Mayfair district, Annabel’s elegant members club and restaurant has gained a global reputation over the five decades since it was first founded. The understated entrance on Berkeley Square leads to a labyrinth of glitz and glamour where a restaurant, private dining room (complete with Butler service), bar and nightclub are all elaborately decorated play areas.
