Alternative Party Destinations That Aren’t Ibiza

Searching for an alternative holiday location to rival the Ibiza-style partying scene? SL has done the hard work for you. We’ve found an array of up-and-coming destinations which all deliver an Ibiza-esque experience, with luxury five-star hotels, plenty of exclusive restaurants, VIP bars, and of course, an abundant amount of unbelievable club nights. White Island… What White Island?

Barcelona

For a more cultural destination, choose Barcelona, where you can experience lavish five-star hotels and explore the buzzing party side of the Spanish city. From the spectacular Mandarin Oriental to the cool and contemporary style of the W Hotel, you’ll be spoilt for choice on where to stay. During the summer month’s three-day music and multimedia fest Sonar also attracts a large party crowd. Expect inspiring art installations and film screenings during the day, followed by a range of live music and DJ sets from dusk.

Budapest

The capital of Hungary, Budapest boasts grand architecture, romantic views from the 19th Century Chain Bridge which connects Buda district with Pest, Turkish thermal baths and an almost excessive amount of nightlife alternatives. Party on a boat down the city’s central River Danube, check out the summer month Spa Parties combining authentic baths with DJs and laser lights, experience Budapest’s unique ruin bars, the infamous reinvented watering-holes based in dilapidated buildings with quirky mixed-up furniture and work from local artists. Or head upwards to Gozsdu Sky Terrace or 360 Bar for a mix of incredible sky-high views and heady cocktail concoctions.

Croatia

There are two areas in Croatia rapidly gaining a reputation as top spots for summer beach clubs: the first is Novalja on Pag Island where Zrce beach is the only place in the country granted with 24-hour licenses. Pack plenty of dance-appropriate swimwear and head straight to Kalypso, Papaya and Aquarius where wild, electronic summer beach parties hosted by international DJs last until sunrise. The second is the island of Hvar on the list of Europe’s Top 20 Beaches, which boasts beautiful Mediterranean landscapes and an infamous party scene. With bars and clubs right on the waterfront, all-day beach parties start at noon on the sand and finish at the notorious Carpe Diem Beach Club or the Hula Hula Bar, where you can stylishly sip on cocktails whilst watching the sun set over the Adriatic Sea.
