Ed Styles It: Culottes

No longer just a passing trend, culottes have officially made the transition to full-on wardrobe staple, as discerning fashionistas like Olivia Palermo return to them season after season. The 2015 version of the tailored trouser, they don’t just work well for downtime, but are smart enough to wear to the office too, especially when they come in failsafe black.

Here SL’s Ed Georgie demonstrates two ways to style them. Cos’s answer to the black peg leg are the centre-point of the look. Team with a simple grey tee, leather biker, trilby hat and street-style favourite Stan Smiths for an injection of Scandi style to your everyday wardrobe, or dress them up with a sleeveless blazer, a waist-cinching belt and Louboutins come an important meeting or evening event.

Fancy trying the look yourself? We’ve rounded up the best black culottes on the high street…
