Laura Von Behr

With over a decade of experience in the fashion industry, Laura von Behr knows quality when she sees it. She sources some of the prettiest vintage pieces for customers to try on at her studio in north London, which is well known to fashion insiders (viewing is by appointment only). Frills, lace and ditsy prints (think Liberty and Laura Ashley) make Laura’s edit a must-see for fans of feminine dressing.

Sign Of The Times

With more than 45 years of experience in the pre-loved luxury market, Sign Of The Times knows how to source the best vintage pieces. Although everything here is pre-loved, its stores feel like luxury boutiques – especially after extensive renovations at its Chelsea outpost. Labels to look out for include Gucci, Hermès and Fendi.

Beyond Retro

Beyond Retro is one of London’s oldest vintage retailers – and it’s great if you’re on a budget. Among its five London stores, the Dalston flagship is the place to find cool varsity jackets, sweatshirts and partywear. An exchange programme allows customers to swap unwanted items for store credit.

Found And Vision

In the heart of Portobello, Found And Vision is a real treasure trove. Set up in 2012 by stylists Karen Clarkson and Oxana Korsun and tailor Rosie Meres, the store is full of historic fashion pieces that still work in a modern context. Every item has been hand-picked for its quality, design value and archival importance – you’re bound to find a gem from Vivienne Westwood or YSL here.

Frock Me Vintage Fair

The first Frock Me vintage fair took place in 1997. Today, more than 60 exhibitors descend on Chelsea and more than 100 to Kensington to showcase their selection of vintage and pre-loved finds. Whether it’s French textiles or classic Chanel bags, everything is usually in excellent condition – we recommend keeping an eye out for 70s cult labels like Ossie Clark and Biba.

Rellik

Rellik is a go-to for true vintage hunters – mainly because it specialises in 70s, 80s and 90s nostalgia. A favourite among stylists sourcing for shoots and films, it’s a place you can expect to find brands such as Thierry Mugler, Margiela and Rick Owens in the mix.

Somewhere In Hackney

Somewhere In Hackney has been east London’s best kept vintage secret for years. Owned by a 90s enthusiast, you’ll find everything from disco heels to denim boiler suits here. The denim selection also keeps customers going back for more – from Levi’s to Wrangler, look out for 80s washes and cool oversized silhouettes.
