10 Beauty Buys Under £10

We're all after results-driven beauty products, but we don’t all have the budget for expensive creams and lipsticks. The good news is, if you’re after affordable skincare, make-up or haircare that works on a budget, there’s plenty out there for you. Here are ten of the best for under £10…
01

E.L.F. Cosmetics Dual-Ended Kohl Eyeliner, £4.50

Everyone needs a dual-ended liner, like this one from e.l.f. The jet-black kohl gives next-level smokiness, while the applicator on the other end lets you blur it out – so even liner novices can’t go wrong. Once set, it doesn’t budge either – which means your lived-in, sooty look will stay put all day. The in-built sharpener is a bonus, too.

Essence Blushed Eyeshadow Palette, £2.60 (was £4.00)

With ten, highly pigmented shades, this £4 palette offers everything from glossy metallics to soft, matte tones. Each colour melts into the skin, leaving behind deep colour and zero fall-out. The warm, rosy tones can be used on the cheeks, as well.

03

Q+A Ginger Root Daily Moisturiser, £8.50

Following in the footsteps of streamlined brands like The Ordinary, The Inkey List and Garden of Wisdom, Q+A is the newest affordable skincare kid on the block. Produced and made in Norfolk, their products are 98% natural, free from artificial fragrances and mostly vegan. Our favourite from the range is this skin-quenching moisturiser that uses aloe vera and vitamin E to hydrate and plump. Despite being thicker in texture, it sinks in fast, allowing any make-up to apply evenly and smoothly on top. An everyday essential.

John Frieda Hydrate & Recharge Shampoo & Conditioner, £5.99

Dry, brittle strands are reportedly one of the top hair concerns out there, which led John Frieda to create this new shampoo and conditioner. Formulated with monoi oil and strengthening keratin, both lock in moisture and restore the hair’s lipid barrier to improve breakage. We’ve tried both ourselves and noticed hair felt smoother and more malleable after just a couple of washes.

05

Maybelline Cheek Heat Blushers, £8.99

We love the squeezy tube, but the sheer, cream texture is just as attention-grabbing. Available in six suits-all shades, it lasts for hours on the skin, lending cheeks a glossy, warm glow that looks beautiful all-year-round. Use a brush to buff it on in gentle motions and blend out into a wearable, transparent wash.

06

Nursem Hand Cream, £9.99

Yes, it provides comforting moisture to dry skin, but this formula (developed by nurses to combat constant hand-washing) does so much more. Your hands won’t just feel better post-use, they’ll also look smother, thanks to the Manuka honey, nourishing oils and white willow extract – the latter of which is known for its anti-inflammatory benefits. The ‘grammable packaging is enough to entice alone.

NYX Born To Glow Concealer, £9

New to the NYX range, this micropearl-infused concealer comes in 24 shades and lends a natural, glowy finish with buildable coverage. It’s versatile as well – use it to conceal, highlight or contour, depending which shade you buy. As for the puff applicator, it allows you to cover a wider surface area, and really push the product into the skin for seamless coverage.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Volume On Demand Mascara, £5.99 (was £7.99)

Offering ‘continually buildable volume’, Rimmel’s latest mascara allows you to amp up the definition throughout the day without any dryness or clumping. The brush also features an innovative fibre technology to create extra bulk and build higher volume, grabbing every lash as you brush it through. Expect jet-black inkiness and zero smudging – a steal at £7.99.

09

Shrub Sea Salt Texturising Spray, £9.99

Willow extract and nettle are the two gentle ingredients inside this spray that serve up a piecey, tousled texture. Mist liberally throughout damp or dry hair for extra volume and to eliminate frizz. Best of all, it doesn’t leave a powdery or sticky residue behind like other texturisers on the market.

10

The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm, £9.99

With a thick texture, this feels luxurious and buttery, softening skin after just one use. It contains 3% of oat kernel oil to help lock in moisture and reduce blackheads, while 1% oat powder keeps irritation and redness at bay. Ideal for sensitive skin types seeking a thorough cleanse, massage this onto damp skin pre-moisturiser for best results. For deeper hydration, leave it in for 10 minutes like a mask.
