Summer Table Inspiration

Favourites 29

UPDATED JULY 2017

With summer in full swing (and another Bank Holiday to come in August), now’s the time to prep your outdoor dining space for al fresco fun. Whether you’re throwing a drinks party or have family over for a barbecue, we’ve rounded up the most stylish ways to dress your table for summer…

Stock Up On Succulents

Undoubtedly one of 2017’s hottest and most affordable interiors trends, succulents add an exotic vibe to your setting. Scatter them between plates and add to floral arrangements, then when the party’s over they’ll make an on-trend addition to you living space.

Go Rustic With Wood

Rustic wooden paddle boards and tree stump trays are huge right now. Use them as chargers for your plates, bases for floral displays or simply use an old grocery box to house a floral centrepiece.

Pimp You Pineapple

Along with flamingos, palm trees and cacti, pineapple motifs will add some fun to the table. Either buy pineapple-themed accessories or get a selection of the tropical fruit and adorn with glitter, metallic spray paint or fresh flowers.

Go Tropical With Palms

A cheap and easy way to dress your summer table is with palm leaves. Working particularly well for al fresco dining, the lush green foliage will bring a hint of the topical to the UK.

Get Creative With Fruit

Add a touch of colour to an all-white setting with some citrus fruits. Scatter lemons along the centre of the table with some eucalyptus leaves (they’ll come in handy for G&Ts later), or slice them up and add to a vase of white stock flowers.

Keep It Simple With Hydrangeas

If there’s one bloom that means summer, it’s a big, bold hydrangea. You only need a few to make a real impact – go for odd numbers, we like three of five together – and simply pop in a vase for a fuss-free but impactful look.
