11 Things To Do This Bank Holiday | sheerluxe.com

Boulers’ Roof-Top Pétanque

It’s official, pétanque is making a comeback. Don’t believe us? Diane Kruger and Vanessa Paradis were just some of the celebs revelling in a game of the French classic at this year’s Cannes film festival and now the trend has arrived here at Roof East, Hackney. Rally a group and try your hand at it, along with some Orangina-inspired cocktails – on a balmy evening you’d be forgiven for thinking it was the Cote d'Azur.

Carnival Party at Coya

Coya, London’s first Peruvian restaurant to include a private members bar, is throwing the carnival party to end all carnival parties this Sunday. ‘Summer Chic’ is the dress code, so don your best frock and heels for the end-of-August soirée, which kicks off with a complimentary cocktail at 9pm and runs until 4am with the capital’s hottest DJs.

Milk Re-opens

Taking it easy this bank holiday? Milk, the all-day destination café in the heart of Balham, has reopened this month and it’s one of the coolest brunch spots we’ve seen in a while. Cure a hangover with favourites like The Convict (English muffin, dry-cured bacon, sausage, egg, poacher hash and special ‘hangover sauce’) or opt for a modern take on the traditional breakfast with Sweet Maria (sweetcorn fritters, grilled halloumi, avocado, kasundi and lime). Also worth noting is the kitsch green and pink 1950s bathroom suite, worth a visit alone.
