So, get the gang together, brush up on your general knowledge and let your competitive side take over. From karaoke-fuelled quiz sessions to bonkers ‘Bogan Bingo’ halls, here’s where to shake up a quiet weekday evening.

The Lexington, Islington

Hosted by legendary record store, Rough Trade, music buffs will be love the Lexington’s Monday night trivia session. With picture rounds, anagrams and pop trivia a-plenty, you’ll cover everything from naming original band line-ups to three-second intros where you have to guess the famous tune. If you know your Bowie from your Buzzcocks, this is the quiz for you. If you’re feeling particularly indulgent, sample a whiskey or two – The Lexington has one of the best collections in London.

Aeronaut Pub Quiz

Promising a belter of a quiz, the Aeronaut pub in Acton offers eager participants an entertaining evening of general knowledge, music, film and pop culture questions, as well as themed rounds, shout outs and the chance to win some great prizes. You’ll also get to feast on two-for-one burgers and £3 ales – but remember, it’s a school night.

You're Gonna Need A Bigger Boat Film Quiz

Movie mavens will be in their element at this cinematic extravaganza. An evening wholly dedicated to film sensations spanning the decades, You’re Gonna Need a Bigger Boat is a test of film trivia and references, with all the questions projected onto a cinema screen. The quizzes are hosted in various locations across London, including the likes of The Ritzy Cinema and Hackney Picturehouse. Keep your eyes on the website for further dates.

Bogan Bingo

Dubbed as ‘devastatingly hilarious’, Bogan Bingo is a quiz night like no other. Forget what you already know about bingo, Bogan Bingo is a night of chaos, a comedy game-show hosted by two very entertaining bingo callers, with a sensational soundtrack of ’80s and ’90s classics. Prepare for mullets, mayhem and massive prizes.

Boogaloo –​ Who Killed Bambi Music Quiz

With a packed line-up of live music, comedy, and blinding quiz nights, it’s no wonder the Boogaloo is a hotspot amongst the Highgate clan. One of the longest running quiz nights in London, the Boogaloo’s ‘Who Killed Bambi’ night is bubbling with pop culture nuances and questions that focus on music and film. Last Man Standing At The Phoenix

One of the most raucous and comical of quiz shows, The Phoenix hosts the legendary Last Man Standing, an interactive pub quiz full of complete nonsense and reckless gaming. Participants will be pulled on stage to get involved with the questions (and answers) and you’ll be expected to take part in a series of ridiculous challenges – think Swingball and Play Your Stars Right. Super Star Quiz At Star Of Bethnal Green

Voted one of the Top 10 Quiz Nights in London, the Star of Bethnal Green’s illustrious pub quiz is not one to miss. Each night is usually themed, and has, in the past, included everything from ‘90s pop culture to Alan Partridge and Harry Potter, so you know you’re guaranteed an evening of giggles and great entertainment. The food in the Star is also top-notch – they host various pop-ups, currently taking the helm are slow-cooked meat sensations Slow Fire – so book a table and make a night of it. Be sure to book in advance as it does get very busy.
