Style Tips From Chloé Loves To Shop |
Favourites 12

If Chloé Loves To Shop isn’t already on your radar, it’s about time you gave the blogger a follow. The mum of three quit a career in TV to spend more time with her children and pursue blogging full time, and her dedication to sourcing and styling high street finds has already garnered her a healthy fan base. We sat down with the rising Insta star to find out more about her fashionable life…

How would you describe your everyday style?

I don't like to look too 'done', so day to day my style is fairly relaxed. In winter, it’s usually jeans, trainers or boots and a cashmere jumper; in summer I prefer a slightly more girly, laid-back look with dresses and sandals.

Has your style evolved as you've gotten older?

I’ve become a bit more discerning about the quality of the clothes I wear, and my style has definitley become more classic. I ‘invest’ in purchases far more than I used to and I probably show far less flesh than before.

What are the key winter basics everyone should own?

A good quality coat (or two or three!), cashmere knits and a great pair of jeans and boots. In terms of accessories, my must-haves are a cashmere blanket scarf, cashmere wristwarmers and sunglasses (yes, even in winter).

On which items do you splurge and on which do you save?

Since becoming a mum, comfort is my number one priority so I invest in good quality shoes. I also splurge on coats and bags but tend to go cheap on trend-led items.

Any recent high-end investments?

There are a few. My best purchase of winter would definitely be my Chloé Susanna Boots – they’re worth every penny. Also, I love the silk Dodo Bar Or Shirt that I bought in New York and my grey Chloé Marcie bag. At the moment, I’m saving for a black GG Marmont shoulder bag.

What are you looking forward to wearing again come spring?

Dresses – I loathe wearing tights, so I tend to avoid dresses in the winter – and open toed shoes, I grew up in South Africa so I spent a lot of time barefoot and love having my feet out.

Any advice about building a new season wardrobe?

Invest in key staples like jeans and sandals and don’t get caught up in trend items. Apply the '20 wears' rule to your purchases. Will you wear it at least twenty times? If so, it’s an item worth investing in.

And what are the trends to invest in for next season?

I’ve always been a ‘girly girl’, so next season’s pink trend is right up my street. In my youth, I was ballet obsessed, so I’m also looking forward to tulle and feminine ruffles.

Finally, what's your secret to looking chic and pulled-together with three children?

Loosely planning an outfit in my head the night before and getting up an hour earlier than everyone else.
