The New Watch Shape

Favourites 16

For as long as we can remember it’s been all about the round watch. Brit brands like Daniel Wellington and Olivia Burton have pioneered the designer-inspired shape for less, with bloggers and the style set cementing a timepiece as an accessories must-have – when was the last time you saw an arm candy shot that didn’t feature a chunky circular style?

But there’s a new face on the scene, with minimalist Scandi brand Larsson Jennings leading the way with this vintage-inspired new design. Arguably one of the first labels to make watches cool again, their offerings for this season feature a small, square, leather-strapped piece front and centre, and they’ve already picked up some big name fans, with bloggers Lucy Williams and Andi Singer already spotted sporting theirs.

Quite a departure from the rounded trend of previous seasons, there’s something refreshingly streamline about this new shape which sits more subtly in line with stacked bracelets or a well-placed cuff. Other brands have already jumped on the bandwagon, with similar styles cropping up at Olivia Burton and Marc Jacobs. Classic, cool and a serious throw back, it’s time to switch up your watch game, stat.
