Resortwear Brand To Know: Prism

Favourites 7

Our advice for a sleek beach aesthetic? Invest in quality, unfussy separates. And with everything from statement sunnies to pool-to-dinner separates, London brand Prism is the label we’re turning to to master summer style. We found out more…

Where did it all begin?

Launched back in 2009 by former style editor Anna Laub, the label sought to fill a niche for quality beach staples, with an initial focus on eyewear and an eventual move to ready-to-wear summer separates. That means throw-on dresses in slub fabrics, functional swimwear in muted shades and wearable leather and rattan sandals.

The result…

Is quality pieces that stand out from the pack – everything is crafted by highly skilled artisans in Italy and designed by the British Fashion Award winning creative director. Expect flattering lines and comfortable cottons, with block colour dresses and patterned swimwear creating a lust-worthy holiday capsule.

What about the details?

All bikinis have removable straps, seamless lines and intricate patterns. Expect luxe, high quality fabrics throughout the collection, and sunglasses are crafted in the Treviso region of Italy, the historic home of eyewear.

And what’s on offer this season?

The classics are here to stay; statement cat eyes are the brand’s signature look (the pink Calvi are a hero pair) but it’s not all about the sunnies – their one-piece swimsuits and throw-on relaxed maxis are designed with meticulous attention to detail.

Any hero pieces?

The fringed Negril shirt dress is ideal for day-to-night style, and the tassel detailing is giving us serious holiday vibes. Just add heels and a red lip come evening.

What’s the damage?

The collection isn’t cheap, with swimwear starting from £70 and sunglasses around the £210 mark. But you get what you pay for – luxe fabrics and expert design mean classic pieces that will stand the test of time.
