Cool Swimwear Brands To Know

Favourites 31

Designer swimwear might not come cheap, but, like so many things in life, it pays to invest. And there’s a modern generation of swimwear brands making high-end style more desirable than ever. Here are the investment labels worth splashing out on…

A long-time SL favourite, London-based Asceno has moved away from cult status to become a stylish stalwart of the swimwear world. Loved by fashion girls (Lucy Williams is a devotee), their bespoke prints add interest to simple shapes. Invest in accompanying cover ups for a polished beach look.

Originally launched as a lingerie line, Araks has amassed an impressive celebrity following – SJP and Michelle Williams are fans. Founder Araks Yeramyan has a strong pedigree, having previously worked for Marc Jacobs and J.Crew, and her attention to detail is evident in these flattering beach separates. This season’s pink and lilac colour palette is ideal for girly girls, whilst dramatic cut outs lend edge to the designs.

Hunza G

Propelled into the fashion mainstream thanks to a collaboration with Pandora Sykes, you might recognise Hunza G’s fun swimwear from your Instagram feed. Bandeau bikinis and high rise swimsuits feature statement girly ruffles, but this season there are some more grown-up block colour designs in the mix.

Designer to the stars Lisa Marie Fernandez takes inspiration from her famous friends – both Poppy Delevingne and Leandra Medine (aka Man Repeller) have styles named after them. This year’s update on her vintage-feel swimwear is the polka dot print – invest in monochrome designs or go for a frilled ‘50s-inspired cut.

Love Stories Intimate

This label has a lingerie feel we love – bikini bra-like tops will add a sexy touch to your beach look, whilst mismatched patterns and frilly detailing put a playful spin on classic swimwear.

Uma, £49.70

Reggipetto, £53.52

Uma Bralette, £53.52

Lolita, £38.23

Zoey, £38.23

Shelby, £38.23

Marysia Swim

Another of last summer’s hero labels, the brand who put scallop-edged swimwear on the map is back again. This year’s feminine pink and green colour palette keeps things fresh, or follow the style set and stick to neutral hues for a luxe, tan-enhancing look.

Solid & Striped

Arguably the most fun designer swimwear out there, Solid & Striped’s 2017 designs are even more show-stopping than previous styles, think a fluoro orange and blue colour palette guaranteed to turn heads. Famed for sporty, practical cuts, grab a flattering one piece or supportive bikini for standout holiday style.

Adreana Degreas

Known for her luxe designs and refined fabrics, Brazilian designer Adriana Degreas is taking a more fun approach to swimwear this season by appropriating last year’s popular slogan trend. Opt for Baywatch-style red high rise costumes with tongue-in-cheek statements – we’ve got our eye on the ‘No Photos’ design.
