Intrigued by dermal fillers but not ready to commit? Meet Fillerina – the innovative brand taking the beauty world by storm. Bridging the gap between professional injections and over-the-counter serums, beauty editors are falling over themselves to get their hands on these new-generation products. Here’s why…
Tell us more...
A ground-breaking, at-home alternative to fillers, Fillerina’s products – spanning everything from lip plumpers to skin boosters – are proven to improve the appearance of fine lines for a more youthful complexion. It’s all down to hyaluronic acid, a hydrating molecule at the heart of the brand’s products, which infiltrates every layer of the skin for visible changes. In short, Fillerina’s offerings work to plump skin from within, without the use of needles.
What’s the hero product?
Without a doubt the Treatment Kit, from £89, which is offered in three different grades to suit your skin type (i.e. whether you’re looking to correct early-onset expression lines or deeper-set wrinkles). Non-invasive but potent, the 14-day treatment uses a precision applicator (it looks like a needle but isn’t) to deliver the first-ever blend of six hyaluronic acids directly where it’s needed. The kit also comes with a secondary treatment, which should be used after the initial serum and works to infuse skin with conditioning nutrients and lock in much-needed moisture.
And the rest of the range?
We’ve got our eye on the hot-off-the-press Lip Volume, from £55. Boasting a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, it can be applied throughout the day (it makes a good primer for lipstick) to plump up and add volume to a less than perfect pout. The range also comprises a night and day cream, which can be used alongside the 14-day treatment for maximum results.
How does it work?
If you’re sceptical, we understand why – hyaluronic acid molecules are too big to penetrate the skin, making them ideal for injecting but redundant when used topically in skincare. However, Fillerina’s unique formula boasts resized, nano molecules which are able to better penetrate the dermis and epidermis.
So what are people saying?
Beauty blogger and make-up artist Sarah Jagger claims she was “dubious yet curious” about Fillerina’s 14-day kit, but says it left her skin with a “just-had-a-facial plumpness”. Meanwhile, Into the Gloss say, “the effects last almost as long as injectables, but the payoff is subtler – a natural lift, instead of an administered one.” Even Cult Beauty say the products mean you can “cancel that Harley Street Appointment”.
