A clean home needn’t mean endless hours in your marigolds. And if anyone knows a thing two about keeping your home in check, it's eco-cleaning brand Method. Follow their quick and easy cleaning tips below, to have your home spick and span in no time…
Dust Before You Vacuum
When you dust, the excess particles scatter onto the floor, so it’s best to do this before vacuuming or you’ll undo all your hard work.
Focus On The High-Traffic Areas
If you’re in a rush, just concentrate on the most-used areas or rooms instead of cleaning everything top to bottom – this usually means vacuuming the hallways and living area, and wiping down surfaces in the kitchen and bathroom – no one will check if that bookshelf in the study has been dusted.
Organise Your Cleaning Supplies
Avoid having to run back and forth to different rooms when you’re blitzing your home by keeping cleaning products in easy-access places where you’ll use them most. That means kitchen cleaning sprays under the sink in the kitchen and bathroom sprays and bleaches in bathroom cupboards. That way, all your products are on tap, so you can keep cleaning time to a minimum.
Clean While You Sleep
We don’t mean catching up on chores whilst you sleepwalk; a clever way to get rid of built-up dirt and grime is to spray the sink or toilet bowl with product and leave it to soak overnight to really get to work on tough stains. Then, in the morning, you can just wipe down with a cloth or toilet brush and go.
Keep Cloths Handy
Store cloths and sponges underneath your bathroom and kitchen sink to buff mirrors and windows, tackle spills, and blitz water spots as and when, that way the cleaning won’t build up.
Spritz & Go
Invest in a decent range of cleaning products to keep surfaces and floors sparkling clean. We recommend Method’s new range of anti-bac surface sprays that are perfect for bathrooms, kitchen surfaces and even high chairs. They’re infused with non-toxic, plant-based ingredients, smell amazing and have serious sink appeal. Available in three vivid fragrances – Wild Rhubarb (our favourite), Sunny Citrus and Water Mint – to keep your home sparklingly clean and smelling of heaven. What’s more, they are super safe to use as they don't contain any harsh chemicals. Instead, they use naturally derived lactic acid that banishes 99.9% of bacteria – hard working and kind all in one. Available from Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Waitrose and Ocado.
Keep Smells At Bay
Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of bins or add lavender bags to the laundry basket to make keep damp or unwanted smells at bay.
