Seaside In The Sky At Searcy’s The Gherkin

When the British summer isn’t on your side, book into the Gherkin’s latest pop-up, Searcy’s Seaside in the Sky, for drinks and food with some serious views. Split across the 39th and 40th floors of one of the capital’s most iconic buildings, this coastal-themed extravaganza features candy-coloured beach huts, deck chairs and a fishing boat, as well as an impressive take on classic British dishes. Think posh fish and chips, fresh seafood and one of the best pork pies we’ve ever tasted, all washed down with copious amounts of Nyetimber. If gin’s your thing, make a beeline for the Plymouth Gin beach hut bar.

A Banquet In Toad Hall

Famed for turning timeless tomes into spectacular, theatrical supper clubs, The Literary Club will once again lure book lovers into a world of childhood reverie, this time with The Wind in the Willows gang in full tow. Set in Stoke Newington’s The Greenhouse, look forward to a fantastical five-course feast of delicious British classics, set in the rather regal setting of Toad Hall.

Billy & Jack’s Summer Supper Club

Dynamic Masterchef duo Billy and Jack will be bringing their sell-out supper club to the Southbank’s Royal Festival Hall this summer, this time with a side serving of Silent Pool Gin. Throughout August, the culinary gurus will be hosting a collection of bottomless brunches, seafood suppers and indulgent summer feasts, with delights on the menu including the likes of salted Cornish sardines with heritage tomatoes and roasted quinoa; Notting Hill Carnival-inspired jerk hangar steak; and the boys’ playful tribute to Wall’s iconic Fab ice lolly.

Eat Grub

Could you brave a meal made entirely from edible insects? For those of you adventurous enough to delve into the culinary world of creepy crawlies, Thai restaurant Farang will be teaming up with edible insect peddlers, Eat Grub, to bring a five-course tasting menu to daring diners throughout the summer. Dishes will include Insect Miang: cricket and worms with coconut, ginger, chilli and betel leaves. Book if you dare…

BULLDOG x Pikes Brunch

Ibiza’s long-standing party palace, Pikes, will be bringing the Balearic brunch vibes to London this weekend, recreating their iconic Sunday brunch sessions on the soft sands of Fulham's Neverland beach. Look forward to epic DJ beats and bottomless BULLDOG Gin cocktails served straight to your table, with a whole host of ingredients for you and your mates to craft your very own Red Snappers. This is the second brunch in their summer series, with more to run soon. Watch this space.

Eat With Your Hands At Shuffle Festival

As part of this year’s annual festival of culture, Eat With Your Hands will be launching a pop-up treehouse restaurant in Tower Hamlets cemetery, where chefs India Hamilton and Anjli Vyas will be cooking up a series of Indian and Persian-inspired brunches and dinners that you’re encouraged to eat with your hands.

Summer Supper Clubs At Erith Lighthouse

This unique riverside hangout promises all kinds of fun-filled foodie pursuits. Nestled on the border of London and Kent, Erith Lighthouse – London’s coolest new community space – is set to launch a series of spectacular supper clubs, paying homage to London’s vibrant food scene. The innovative menus will celebrate the capital’s thriving agricultural heritage, using fresh, seasonal produce from local suppliers, with mouthwatering dishes curated by the likes of Tiny Leaf – London’s first and only organic, zero-waste, vegetarian restaurant – and Felix Woodward, who will be sharing his passion for all things pickled on 25th August.

The Harry Potter Dinner Series

Calling all muggles. To mark the 20th anniversary of The Boy Who Lived, JK Rowling’s crafty young wizard is set to make a magical comeback in the swanky setting of Covent Garden’s member’s club, The Library. Knock back a butter beer or two alongside Harry’s mystical spread – think Devil’s Snare starters and smoked eel Secret Keepers. Fancy dress is entirely essential, so be sure to dust off your Gryffindor capes and flying broomsticks to ensure you gain entry to the wizarding event of the century.

The Harry Potter Dinner Series is running every Friday and Saturday night in August and September at The Library, 112 St Martin's Lane, Covent Garden, WC2N 4BD, tickets cost £75 per head for non-members and £55 for members.


London Shell Co. Summertime Sunset Cruises

Hop aboard the good ship Prince Regent for an evening of foodie pursuits. London Shell Co. – London’s favourite floating restaurant – will be launching a series of sunset dining cruises to indulge wine and shellfish lovers throughout the summer. As well fine wines, a new cocktail list and a summer menu boasting an array of culinary delights, the quaint canal cruiser has been given a seasonal makeover, with pretty flower boxes scattered atop the boat, courtesy of Flowers by Daisy.

Lucky & Joy

Brought to you by the talented Ellen Parr – Co-Founder of supper club duo The Art of Dining and previous chef at Moro – and Pete Kelly of Background Bars, Lucky & Joy is a buzzing new pop-up that offers a bold new take on modern Chinese cuisine. Diners will be dazzled with an array of fresh, flavoursome concoctions, including Xinjiang cumin lamb ribs hailing from North-West Muslim China, as well as the numbing heat of Sichuan cooking with Bang Bang Chicken Salad. Pete will pillage the kitchen pantry, infusing Asian fruits and spices into his killer cocktail list, and there will also be a bar snack menu of bao buns, Tornado potatoes and a BBQ in the garden cooking up smoky, sizzling delights.

Soft Republic

If you’re craving an ice cream fix this weekend, head over to Spitalfields where Wall’s will be whipping things up into a frenzy with their ice cream burger pop-up. As well as burger ice cream sandwiches, with your choice of fillings, there will also be ice cream hot dogs and a mysterious magic box on offer to tantalise your taste buds. But if none of these float your boat, there will be old favourites to choose from, too.

The Riviera Terrace at Hush

This summer-themed, al fresco pop-up is set in the secluded cobbled courtyard at Hush in the heart of Mayfair. The sprawling, sunlit terrace has been given a gorgeous nautical makeover to kick off the seasonal celebrations in style. A Riviera theme runs throughout, so expect to dine on sumptuous platters of fresh seafood surrounded by shell-strewn, driftwood décor with servings of champagne and brunch-time Bloody Marys that come with an oyster in tow.

Vinyl & Cocktail Pairing Pop-Up At The Jones Family Project

Dripping in retro, rock ‘n’ roll glamour, The Jones Family Project’s latest pop-up will be music to your ears. Quite literally, it’s a loving mix of music and muddling, with a special pairing menu that matches nine classic retro vinyl albums with a selection of perfectly paired cocktails. Look forward to the likes of Abba paired with an Absolut Cosmopolitan, Michael Jackson with a Zombie, and Elvis Presley with a Peanut Butter Sandwich. Running from now until the end of September, you can book for up to six people. You’ll all be given a pair of headphones so you can listen to the album on turntables whilst you relax and unwind with a cocktail in hand.
