Favourites 52

In need of some rest and relaxation? SpaBreaks.com has you covered. As the UK's leading spa company offering unique deals at some 700 destinations across the country and further afield, its expert team are on hand to guarantee the ultimate spa experience. Want in? Revitalise at one of these day spas – from new-kid-on-the-block The Ned to under-the-radar countryside sanctuaries, here’s where to go for a truly spoiling day...

The Ned

Having opened its doors earlier this year, The Ned – co-launched by Soho House’s Nick Jones – has already been hailed as one of the coolest spots in London and the spa is no exception. Whether you’re after a treatment from industry faves Cowshed, Sultane de Saba or Annee de Mamiel, a Cheeky mani, a Trish McEvoy make-up lesson or a quick blow-dry, this luxe space has you covered. The interiors are just as impressive – expect hand-painted wallpaper and marble-covered changing rooms.

Packages start from £200 per person, including a 60-minute Cowshed Moody Massage, 60-minute Cowshed facial and full use of facilities.

Rockliffe Hall

We defy you not to feel at your most relaxed in the expansive Rockliffe Hall Spa. With an extensive treatment list that goes beyond standard offerings, this is pampering to be taken seriously. A hydro pool, tepidarium, Roman sauna and other equally spoiling offerings sit next to an igloo where flakes of ice stimulate circulation between treatments. The ideal setting for a special occasion, this unique spa – just five minutes from Darlington station in County Durham – is one not to be missed.

Book in for the Tailor Made Spa Day, with prices starting from £155 per person – the package includes a 60-minute treatment, two-course lunch, two-hour Spa Garden Room experience and full use of spa facilities.

Set in the famous walled gardens of Cliveden, and just two hours from London by train, the spa at Cliveden offers a unique and calming getaway for utter relaxation. Loungers surround the outdoor and indoor pools and the spa offers an impressive range of treatments using Cliveden’s own product line as well as Sarah Chapman’s cult Skinesis and OSKIA.

Prices start from £140 per person, including a 60-minute massage, complimentary soft drinks throughout the day and access to all facilities as well as to the 376-acre National Trust estate.

Bulgari Hotel London

Tucked away from the fast-paced bustle of London life, this two-storey wellness complex comprises fitness rooms, steam rooms, saunas and even ice showers (if you’re feeling brave). One of the largest in London, The Bulgari spa won’t disappoint – with 11 treatment rooms and a handful of private spa suites, the only trouble you’ll have is working out which bliss-inducing treatment to book in for.

Packages start from £250 per person, including a personalised facial or massage, wash and blow dry, express manicure and two-course meal as well as three hours use of the spa facilities.

Ockenden Manor

Set in nine acres of Sussex countryside, Ockenden Manor is the south’s newest and most utopian spa, fed by its own underground spring. Wander into the walk-through rain shower before soaking in the hot tub, unwinding in the sauna or, if you’re feeling energetic, sweating it out in the high-spec gym. The treatment menu offers everything from facials to full body massages, while signature treatments range from reflexology to aromatherapy and you can even book a session in the Isopod flotation tank.

Day spa packages start from £109 per person but we recommend you book in for an overnight stay; prices start from £119.50 (including a £50 spa voucher per person).

The Baglioni Spa

A hidden gem in the heart of Kensington, the Baglioni Spa is the ideal place to relax body and mind and restore wellbeing. Facilities include three exclusive treatment rooms, a relaxation lounge, steam room, experience showers and a gym. The treatment list itself is second-to-none – expect signature rituals, facials and massages as well as collagen-boosting facial treatments and some of the best manicures in the capital.

Spa day packages start from £105 per person, including a 50-minute treatment, Italian aperitivo and full use of spa facilities.

The Dorchester Spa

The spa at the Dorchester is where to go for an unforgettable day of treatments. Enjoy the stylish 1930s Art Deco setting whilst you browse the lengthy list of specialised treatments (there’s even a dedicated mani-pedi suite), for guaranteed relaxation just a stone’s throw from Hyde Park Corner. While you’re there, a visit to the Spatisserie is a must – book in for tea complete with bottomless Champagne.

Day packages start at £150, including an aromatherapy facial, Bento Box lunch in the Spatisserie and one-hours’ use of the facilities.

The Grove

If it’s peace and tranquillity you’re after, Sequoia at The Grove offers the ultimate retreat from the stresses of city life. Nestled in the Hertfordshire countryside (just twenty minutes from the centre of London by train), the spa boasts some of the best facilities outside of the capital. Make a bee-line for the indoor swimming pool, the self-massaging vitality pool and some of the chicest wet rooms we’ve ever seen.

Spa days start from £175 per person, including an 80-minute treatment, personal consultation, Bento Box supper and full use of facilities until 9:30pm
