8 New Restaurants To Try This March

Want to know which eateries are worth booking this month? From acclaimed chefs launching their first solo ventures to the forefront of modern British cuisine, we’ve searched the streets to bring you seven of London’s hottest new restaurants to put on March's must-visit list.

Delamina, Marylebone

This brand new joint comes from the duo behind Strut & Cluck in Shoreditch. Husband and wife team Amir and Limor Chen have created a delectable new menu of dishes inspired by Limor’s eclectic heritage – including her family’s eastern Mediterranean home cooking and her upbringing in Tel Aviv. This means wholesome, healthy dishes with unique flavour combinations – think herbed and spiced Angus beef with pomegranate seeds and harissa oil drizzle; baby aubergines smothered with black sesame and crumbled Rosary goat’s cheese; and charcoal-grilled whole fish rubbed with dry lime.

56-58 Marylebone Lane, W1U 2NX; soft launch on 7th March before fully opening 8th March

Brat, Shoreditch

Acclaimed ex-Kitty Fisher’s Head Chef Tomos Parry is opening his first solo restaurant this month. Located above Smoking Goat in Shoreditch, this seafood-focused grill – named Brat after the old English word for turbot – is inspired by the restaurants found in northern Spain, especially the Basque Country around San Sebastián. Expect fresh, charcoal-grilled fish, alongside a seriously extensive wine and sherry list.

Hām, Hampstead

Hām – meaning ‘home’ in Old English – is ex-Ledbury chef Matt Osborne’s first solo restaurant. The modern British menu is beautifully simple – allowing the quality ingredients to shine – but with imaginative twists that really show off the Australian chef’s credentials. On the menu for brunch, lunch and dinner are classic English breakfasts; lamb belly with pearl barley, yogurt and tomato; Devon crab with macadamia nuts, cucumber and avocado; and chocolate tart with blood orange sorbet and mint. Mmmm.

Cornerstone, Hackney Wick

Having left his Head Chef role at Nathan Outlaw at The Capital, in Knightsbridge, Tom Brown is launching his first ever solo project. The Hackney Wick-based restaurant will serve up “adventurous” British small plates stripped back to two or three hero ingredients. Fish and seafood sourced from his native Cornwall will still be a focus, but meat and vegetarian dishes will also feature.

Osh, Knightsbridge

Bringing Central Asian cuisine to the heart of Knightsbridge, Osh has found a home in a grand three-story townhouse – and boasts a restaurant, sleek cocktail bar and exclusive private lounge. Fresh, seasonal specialities are made with organic fruits and vegetables imported twice a week from Uzbekistan – we’re talking aromatic lamb plov, succulent charred shashlik, traditional Uzbek lagman soup, and freshly baked hand rolled flatbread. Cocktails and contemporary aperitifs are just as impressive.

Scully, St. James's

Australian-born chef Ramael Scully cut his teeth in the kitchens at Ottolenghi and NOPI, before opening the doors to his very own restaurant earlier this month. Walk in and you’ll immediately notice the wall stacked with house-jarred preserves, spice mixes, syrups, pickles, and steeped fruit – which chefs frequently pop out of the kitchen to grab. Food doesn’t subscribe to any one culinary tradition, instead drawing inspiration from Scully’s unique family heritage, which stretches from Ireland to Bali – that means everything from octopus with salt-baked avocado and black garlic to beef short rib pastrami with horseradish and pistachio is on the menu.

Stem, Mayfair

Mark Jarvis, of Anglo and Neo Bistro fame, has announced his third restaurant in as many years, Stem, which is due to open just off Regent Street in late March. In Jarvis’ own words, it’s “a little bit of Anglo heading west to Regent Street”, with modern British dishes including smoked eel, celeriac and white chocolate; pigeon, coconut and salted peanut; and pineapple, olive oil, lime and salt.

Yard Sale Pizza, Leytonstone

One of London’s best-loved independent pizza joints is opening its fourth restaurant this month in Leytonstone. Locals can now tuck into Yard Sale’s fermented dough creations – complete with perfect bubbly crusts and topped with ingredients like crumbled nduja sausage, tender stem broccoli and Napoli piccante. To celebrate the new opening, they’ll be running a soft launch week from Monday 12th March, offering 50% off dine-in and takeaway pizzas (with a delivery service launching the following week).
