& Other Stories X House Of Hackney Launches

We’re accustomed to designer brands teaming up with high street names, but & Other Stories is breaking the mould with a new interiors collaboration. House of Hackney is the cult London design brand – renowned for its eclectic, tropical prints – that’s now taking a spin at fashion, with a new 24-piece selection of summer styles sold exclusively at the Scandi label.

From signature palm prints to William Morris-like florals, House of Hackney is well known for its busy wallpaper, fabrics and accessories. Founded by husband and wife duo Frieda Gormley and Javvy M Royle, the brand is considered the antithesis of the minimalist trend, which is reflected in their statement styles for & Other Stories.

Gormley told British Vogue: “The collection was inspired by the colour confidence of the Bloomsbury Group, as well as British psychedelia and the melting pot of different cultures and creative people living in places like Ridley Road Market, near where we live.”

A logical fit with the H&M -owned high street brand –  & Other Stories doesn’t shy away from bold prints and colours – the collection comprises summery kimonos, cold-shoulder dresses, ruffled blouses and cutesy crop tops, plus a killer selection of patterned flats and silky scarves, all adorned in vintage-like florals and paisleys. Psychedelics, animal prints and chintzes all feature too, crafted from sustainable and organic linen, cotton and Tencel.

Available online and in store from tomorrow, the coming together of an interiors cult label and a high street behemoth is something we all want to be a part of. Wallets at the ready…
