Following its hugely successful BAFTA award-winning BBC production and recent Edinburgh Festival Fringe revival, DryWrite’s production of Fleabag is back on the road. Starring Maddie Rice, the play (on which the TV series was based) is a rip-roaring account of a 30-something female battling through life. Lucky Hove will get to see the tour’s final shows.

ATTEND THE UK’S BIGGEST EVENT OF 2018 HERE: Great Exhibition of the North
Great Exhibition of the North is a free, summer-long celebration of the north of England’s pioneering spirit. The country’s biggest event in 2018, it packs a programme of thought-provoking exhibits, live performances, new artworks and immersive experiences into 80 days. Highlights include Lauren Lavern’s week-long series of concerts, art shows featuring works by Damien Hirst and a robot exhibition.

This summer, the striking Holkham Estate in Norfolk is set to host a brimming calendar of events from family theatre productions, exhibitions and open-air cinema viewings, to the highly anticipated UK return of Lionel Richie on 24th June. WATCH THE KILLERS HERE: Isle of Wight Festival
Originally a counterculture event in the hippy era of 1968, this year the Isle of Wight Festival celebrates its 50th anniversary – and they’ve got the headliners to match this grand occasion. The Killers, Kasabian, Depeche Mode, Liam Gallagher, Rita Ora, Manic Street Preachers, Chic with Nile Rogers, Camila Cabello, Jessie J and more will all bring the party to Newport.

SEE TWO OF THE GREATS HERE: Tate Liverpool
Tate Liverpool has just opened one of the exhibitions of the year: Life in Motion: Egon Schiele/Francesca Woodman. The close encounter between these two artists offers an intense viewing experience and a new perspective on their personal and powerful works.

MIX OPERA, ART & DANCE HERE: The Grange Festival
This summer, Wayne McGregor (Movement Director of the Harry Potter films, and the man behind music videos for Radiohead, The Chemical Brothers and Jamie XX) will be directing several performances at The Grange Festival in Hampshire. The Grade I-listed neo-classical estate makes a striking backdrop for the ballet and contemporary dances taking place over the weekend.

WATCH A NEW PLAY HERE: Wales Millennium Centre
Language is the focus of this new play in Cardiff this month. Titled English, the interactive performance is part of National Theatre Wales’ Festival of Voices 2018 programme. Inviting its audience into a conversation with performer Jonny Cotsen, English asks how language shapes us all, and what happens to our sense of self when we learn a new language, and don’t really know how to say who we are.
