INDULGE IN OYSTERS HERE: Bidendum
Claude Bosi is relaunching the Bibendum Oyster Bar on the ground floor of his Michelin-starred restaurant in Michelin House. There’s a new oyster menu featuring nine different varieties, and an ‘happy hour’ from Monday to Friday where select oysters will be £1 each from 5-6pm. New dishes have also been added to the wider menu: think moules frites and snails with classic garlic butter; and brunch sandwiches such as lobster roll with shoestring fries.

EAT A TOTALLY-VEGAN AFTERNOON TEA HERE: Café Forty One
London’s first vegan French patisserie, Café Forty One, opens at La Suite West Hotel near Hyde Park this week. Head chef Clarisse Flon, a speciality vegan chef, has introduced new vegan breakfast, lunch, all-day dessert and afternoon tea menus, all of which can be taken on La Suite West’s sunny private terrace. We like the sound of the chocolate mousse with hazelnut biscuit and salted caramel.

CELEBRATE ALL THINGS VINTAGE HERE: Chap Olympiad
This Saturday, Boodles Gin will join forces with Bourne & Hollingsworth and The Chap magazine to celebrate all things dapper, daring and dashing. This year’s Chap Olympiad is held in Bedford Square Gardens, where the best-dressed eccentrics and ultra-alternative sportsmen will compete in games such as umbrella jousting and butler baiting. This is very much a spectator sport – old-fashioned cocktails and formal dress are encouraged.

TRY A NEW BAR HERE: The Gherkin
Iris Bar is a new drinking destination located on level 39 of the Gherkin. Previously open for members only, the bar will grant access to its famous 360-degree views to the public for the first time this Friday. The cocktail menu draws inspiration from its views: ‘The Little White Bird’ (violet liqueur, vanilla vodka, lychee, elderflower, lemon and English sparkling wine) is inspired by the Peter Pan associations of Kensington Gardens. Given that the bar is looked after by Searcys, expect a cracking champagne menu.

This weekend the terrace at Mare Street Market will see Brooklyn Beer and New York BBQ legends Fette Sau come together to celebrate Brooklyn’s finest beer and brisket via an exclusive menu that has been put together by Fette Sau founder, Joe Carroll, and Mare Street Market’s Creative Food Director, Gizzi Erskine. The nine-piece menu will include pork ribs coated in a homemade dry rub blend; smoked meat-flavoured burnt end baked beans; and pork sausage links with chilli and apricot BBQ sauce. Sign us up.

In honour of Bastille Day, hot seafood restaurant Neptune has teamed up with French gin brand Citadelle for a Francophile-friendly brunch on Saturday. Head Chef Brett Redman has created a selection of one-off brunch dishes including a triple-decker black pudding Croque madame; bacon cheeseburger ‘au poivre’; and asparagus and barrel-aged feta omelette. Guests will begin with mini G&Ts topped with an oyster, followed by a choice of brunch cocktails.

CELEBRATE BASTILLE DAY HERE: Orrery
Orrery is celebrating Bastille Day with a one-off dinner, drawing influences from across France. On arrival, guests will be greeted with a celebratory glass of Moët & Chandon, before being seated on Orrery’s south-facing terrace. Once the sun goes down, a four-course menu will be served: dishes will include boeuf en croûte with pommes purées and a truffle and Madeira sauce. Fret not, its famous cheese trolley will be doing the rounds.

PRETEND YOU’RE IN BARBADOS HERE: Roundhouse
Launching this weekend, rum brand Mount Gay is bringing the taste of the Caribbean to the Roundhouse. The Barbados Terrace will be filled with bars serving delicious Mount Gay rum cocktails and Barbadian-inspired street food dishes. Guests will also be able to play the likes of dominoes and road tennis, and acoustic music sessions from Roundhouse’s resident artists will take place throughout.

CATCH ONE OF LONDON’S HOTTEST CHEFS HERE: Untitled
For one night only, Andrew Clarke of Brunswick House, St Leonards and Jim's Cafe will be taking over the grill on Untitled's Moon Garden outdoor terrace. Untitled usually serves an inventive Japanese-inspired menu, but on Sunday Clarke will serve a yakitori menu to reflect his signature style of cooking and the dishes at his new restaurant, St Leonards. He’s keeping the menu firmly under wraps until the evening itself. Booking is recommended.

CELEBRATE THE END OF WIMBLEDON HERE: 108 Brasserie
See out the Championships in style this weekend at 108 Brasserie – the stylish restaurant and bar at The Marylebone hotel will be serving a Pimm’s Jelly and a special Wimbledon cocktail until Sunday, the same day as the men’s final. Guests will be able to capture the moment against a floral door installation created by Flowerbx, which is made of pale pink garden roses, primrose pink peonies and cloud white hydrangeas.

TRY A NEW RESTAURANT HERE: Casa do Frango
A new addition to London’s burgeoning Portuguese dining scene, Casa do Frango opens its doors this week. The restaurant specialises in regional Algarvian-style Piri Piri chicken, cooked over wood charcoal using traditional ‘frango’ techniques. The grill will be overseen by experienced Algarvian pitmaster, Lucidio da Fonseca Monteiro, who has moved to London for the project. We like the sound of the grilled chorizo starter, followed by octopus rice. A glass of Vinho Verde will be a must.

A London fixture since 2005, Lovebox certainly knows how to throw a party. This year, it’s ramping up the hip-hop and R&B – we can’t wait to see Vince Staples, Action Bronson, Anderson .Paak, Wu-Tang Clan and SZA, plus headliners N.E.R.D., Skepta and Childish Gambino. Experiences on site will include hip-hop karaoke, a disco golf challenge and The Chapel of Love(box), where you can ‘get married’ in an inflatable church.

For those looking for a bite to eat, the food will be almost entirely BBQ-led and locally sourced, with delicious and ever-changing wholesome platters of vegan, vegetarian, fish and meat options.
