EYES

Whether you struggle to sleep on planes or are prone to puffiness, Sisley’s Eye Contour Mask is one to keep on your radar. Brimming with plant-based actives and a cocktail of vitamins, we love applying this soothing gel to the eye contour come take-off – it’ll hydrate and protect the skin from harsh air conditioning and will see you through a long-haul flight. Dr Sebagh’s Instant Fix Eye Gel also comes highly recommended – just be wary if you have sensitive skin.

HANDS & LIPS

No mention of in-flight skincare would be complete without a reference to Elizabeth Arden’s cult Eight Hour Cream. We love the hands-free lipstick version for travel, ideal for keeping germs at bay while you apply it directly to lips, cuticles and dry skin. Dry hands don’t stand a chance with cool-brand-to-know Gallinee’s Hand Cream, which boasts a genius gel-like texture that absorbs in seconds, minimising the risk of greasy fingerprints on your iPad.

MASKS

If you want to land looking fresh-faced, a multi-tasking mask is a must. Whether you prefer a sheet or cream version, these two hero formulas come tried and tested. Packed with shea butter, black rose extracts and vitamin B5, Sisley’s iconic Black Rose Cream Mask is an SL-fave – apply a thick layer pre-flight and leave it to work its magic (store it in your minibar upon arrival to soothe sun-parched skin as and when required, too). Elsewhere, Summer Friday’s aptly named Jet Lag Mask has already received rave reviews from Kim Kardashian and Jessica Alba – the vegan formula drenches skin with a nourishing mix of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and exfoliating extracts.

MISTS

A facial mist may seem like an unnecessary addition to your skincare routine but used wisely, a facial spritz is far more versatile than you’d imagine. Use them to boost radiance and refresh the complexion mid-flight or opt for a moisturising version (we rate Omorovicza’s Magic Moisture Mist) to impart a dewy glow. Prone to oiliness? Keep a shiny T-Zone at bay with Mario Badescu’s offering, enriched with aloe herbs and rosewater.

OILS

If you have a favourite face oil, don’t be afraid to apply it mid-flight – cabin air is zapped of humidity, meaning the skin will instantly feel drier. Not an oil fan? Check out De Mamiel’s Altitude Oil, which isn’t a facial oil per se, but is a godsend if you’re prone to anxiety or nausea on-board. It’s all down to a dream team of plant oils which work wonders to keep you feeling calm and grounded. Aesop’s Ginger Flight Therapy is also one to try – apply it to pulse points and prepare to feel the zen.

WIPES

It goes without saying you should, in an ideal world, get on the plane with no make-up on, but if you need to have an emergency on-board removal, you can’t go wrong with Bioderma’s Micellar Wipes, enriched with the cleansing powers of the brand’s cult Micellar solution. Countless make-up artists also swear by RMS Beauty’s Ultimate Makeup Remover Wipes, which are packaged in individual sachets, making them ideal for on-the-go removal.
