Annabel's, Mayfair
London’s most exclusive members’ club underwent a £55m makeover this year. Thanks to Sexy Fish designer Martin Brudnizki, gone is the old country house décor, and in its place a whirlwind of lavish, glitzy bars and restaurants – plus, the dreamiest pink floral bathrooms we’ve ever seen (created in collaboration with beauty guru Charlotte Tilbury, no less). If you’re lucky enough to get in, we recommend heading straight to the powder room for a selfie.

German Gymnasium, Kings Cross
A restored mid-Victorian pile between King’s Cross and St Pancras stations, German Gymnasium's interiors are some of the coolest in the capital. Their bathrooms, however, are the star of the show. Not only have they one two Blue Badge Style (BBS) awards for being the best disabled toilets in London, the décor – inspired by 19th-century gymnasiums – are an Instagrammer's dream: all monochrome marble, bespoke black and white wallpaper and sleek gold hardware.

Nopi, Soho
From the masterminds behind Ottolenghi comes Nopi, a middle eastern small-plates restaurant in the heart of Soho. And although the flavours of this place really pack a punch, the interiors are seriously toned down (think white brick walls and glossy white tables). That is, until you encounter the hall of mirrors-esque bathroom: sleek and modern, yet delightfully OTT.

Omar’s Place, Pimlico
With interiors inspired by the Mediterranean, stepping into Omar's Place will make you feel a world away from London. A collaboration between designers Sella Concept and Wilson Holloway architects, the décor is seriously Instagrammable throughout, including the bathrooms – expect splashes of emerald green and warm terracotta, teamed with luxe gold accents and sleek curved mirrors.

Park Chinois, Mayfair
Behind a set of intriguing red doors in Mayfair is the Great Gatsby-esque Park Chinois. A restaurant that pays homage to the decadence of 1930s Shanghai with some of the grandest décor in London, the bathrooms are no exception – all opulent purple and gold, lashings of black marble, and those much-Instagrammed gold-plated swan taps.

Restaurant Ours, Knightsbridge
You can’t visit Restaurant Ours without posing against that flower wall. But it’s far from the only ‘gram-worthy spot – essentially an Instagram addict’s heaven, there are countless places to stage impromptu photoshoots. Our favourite spot is the tropical-inspired bathrooms – all Pinterest-worthy pink tiles, hammered gold sinks and palm-print ceilings.

Sketch, Mayfair
One of the most Instagrammed spots in the capital, Sketch underwent a fun new update earlier this year. And while the powder pink Gallery has been kitted out in a whole new series of colourful David Shrigley designs, luckily for the selfie enthusiasts among us, the Insta-famous egg-shaped toilets are still going strong. Expect a fun Christmas twist come December...

The Ned, City
When it comes to heritage glamour, nowhere does it better than The Ned. Their powder room on the lower ground floor couldn't be better designed for a group bathroom trip on a girls' night out – plenty of mirrors, the most flattering of lighting, luxe mixed marble tiling, and the star of the show; the three-person velvet-upholstered kissing seat taking centre stage by the sinks. You'll be tempted to spend the whole evening chatting away in here.
