London’s Best Shopping Destinations Uncovered

London’s Best Shopping Destinations Uncovered

We love the great British high street, but when it comes to actually shopping at the bricks-and-mortar stores, you can’t beat finding everything you need under one roof. Here’s where team SL head when its time for a shopping spree…
CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH WESTFIELD

From the day Westfield London opened in 2008, shoppers have flooded through its doors for everything from groceries to fashion, the cinema to restaurants. Now the largest shopping centre in Europe, the Shepherd's Bush site boasts everything from the hottest designer brands to the biggest names in beauty, making it a must-visit for all discerning shoppers. And the best bit? These days, you don’t even have to haul yourself across the city if you’re not based west – the advent of Westfield Stratford City means both sides of London are catered for. Here’s why both top our list of the best places to shop all under one roof…

The Space… At Shepherd's Bush had a further £600 million investment last year, which is what earned it its ‘largest shopping centre in Europe’ status. Welcoming an upgrade to existing stores and a new roster of exciting foreign exports, the expansion also saw the addition of a mini-golf course, bowling alley and super-sized new shopping spaces.

The Size… Is vast. The new Zara is Europe’s largest (seriously good news for fans of the Spanish brand), whilst the transformed 70,000 sq ft Primark store guarantees some stylish bargains. There’s over 150 fashion and beauty brands available, meaning a better selection than anywhere else.

The High Street… Is unbeatable – think super affordable brands like Warehouse, River Island, Monki and Stradivarius, along with elevated high street names including Cos, Reiss, Whistles and All Saints. You can also shop at the department stores John Lewis & Partners and House of Fraser - great for when you’re after a bit of everything.

The Luxury… Is taken care of thanks to The Village, the mall’s high-end wing which caters for those looking to invest a little more. That doesn’t mean you have to completely blow the budget; more affordable designer names like Maje and The Kooples sit alongside luxury labels like Gucci and Burberry.

The Beauty… Caters for make-up junkies everywhere. From MAC to Bobbi Brown, Chanel to Tom Ford, Urban Decay to Jo Malone, whether it’s a beauty fix or a skin miracle you’re after, you’ll find it at Westfield London. There’s also a Natura Bissé Spa on site, offering luxurious treatments from skincare experts, so you can hit the shops then enjoy some pampering.

The Exclusives… Make a visit worthwhile alone; there’s the first ever Carvela by Kurt Geiger store for shoe lovers, plus the UK’s only Urban Revivo store – as China’s answer to Zara, it’s the place to find the things your friends don’t have.

The Food… From pasta to sushi, tacos to dim sum, the selection at the mall is vast, catering for every whim. Whether you’re after a froyo, laduree macaroon or a big old glass of wine, there’s something for whatever food mood you’re in.

The Extras… Include a Vue cinema, Putt Shack mini golf course, All Star lanes bowling alley and even a KidZania to keep the little ones occupied.

The Location… Is the super-accessible Shepherds Bush – get there via the Central Line or the London Overground, or head to Wood Lane or White City tube. Parking is also fuss-free thanks to some of the nicest multi-stories we’ve ever visited.

The Space… Was built as part of the Olympic Stratford expansion at the Queen Elizabeth Park, which means the views are pretty spectacular. It may be slightly smaller than its West London counterpart, but it still offers 350 stores and over 85 dining options.

The Stores… Cater to a cool crowd; think Arket, & Other Stories, Weekday and Topshop. There’s also a wide selection of beauty names available, including cult labels like NARS, Too Faced and NYX, plus department stores including John Lewis & Partners.

The Fashion… Is superb. The perfect destination to give your off-duty wardrobe a boost, we love casual/cool offerings from all our favourite brands.

The Food… Also has a little something for everyone. Healthy juice bars, noodle eateries, Instagrammable doughnuts and a luxury champagne bar complete the roster – we’d be inclined to head there for lunchtime alone.

The Amenities… Are also vast, that means a selection of banks, car rental services, an Uber meet-point and a Sky hub. There’s also an array of furniture stores and home accessories destinations, including SL favourite Zara Home, plus the UK's first order and collect Ikea.

The Location… Is easy to get to, thanks to connections on the Jubilee and Central Lines, as well as the London Overground, the DLR and TFL rail. Or, take your car and download the mall's app and use the 'find my car' function, or use the interactive screens in the car park space to find your way back.
