Botox In A Bottle |
If only Botox came in a bottle. Any product claiming to have the same wrinkle-erasing effect is quite simply lying. However, if you wince at the idea of needles – especially close to your eyes or just want to avoid the injectable route, these ten beauty products promise painless yet powerful results.

Blame Love Island, blame Instagram, the image of perfection is so regularly seen across social media, our self-esteem has understandably suffered. You may not feel ready (read: have the balls) to give injectables a whirl but we’re all still striving for a complexion that looks like it’s wearing a filter. Frankly, there is limited change you can achieve from a bottle but it’s still a good place to begin, and although they don’t come cheap, they are significantly more affordable than the real deal. SL beauty contributor, Tamara Corin has been slathering and exfoliating to give you the low-down on the beauty products that truly deliver.

Rodial Snake Serum 02, £130

Don’t be scared by its name, this celebrity favourite contains a unique SYN®-AKE dipeptide, a wrinkle freezing ingredient designed to mimic the effects of the Temple Viper Venom. It gives skin a mild freeze-like effect to reduce visible facial movement. Liposomes work to fill lines instantly while fast-acting oxygen flows to cells for a 3D plumping effect.

Biotulin Supreme Skin Gel, £64

Nothing short of amazing, this is one of the biggest ingredient breakthroughs to come out of the Korean beauty craze. Known as the organic Botox gel, the first botulinum-based topical skincare product has ninety-five percent of the amino acids which are identical to the Botox you’ll receive in the doctor’s office. Naturally, this comes with a hefty price tag but it is well worth the splurge. Also rumoured to have been recommended by Kate Middleton to Michelle Obama, with Meghan Markle confirmed as a fan. Need we say more?

Dr. Brandt Needles No More Expression Smoother, £71.20

This minty-smelling moisturiser includes a blend of top-secret wrinkle fighters, which pretty much relax the root muscle – the same way Botox would (although less dramatically). The best thing is the cream gets to work inside a mere 30 minutes to reveal smoother forehead lines and reduced crow’s feet.

Strivectin Wrinkle Recode Line Transforming Melting Serum, £63.41

Modelled on epigenetics (the research into changing gene expression), this ultra-concentrated solution taps into skin’s organic wrinkle-fighting mechanisms to melt lines in just a week. In addition, it’s infused using the brand’s hero NIA-114 complex, shown to strengthen the skin barrier. It’s multi skin benefits and strong scientific research make this a solid beauty buy.

Dr. Levy Eye Booster Concentrate, £165

Known in the industry as the stem cell guru, Dr. Levy has earned this title for this product alone. Stuffed with plant stem cells, which erase crow's feet and fine lines and give your skin a much-needed wake-up call. These life-changing results are worth budgeting for every month.

Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior, £80

Although we’re loyal and longstanding fans of Kate, this product exceeds even our expectations.  Clinically proven to deliver results in a mere four weeks with just one application. This beauty ed’s fave features Kate’s signature HA³, a molecule with the ability to hold 1,000 times its weight in water giving a plumper complexion. A powerful blend of essential amino acids and glucosamine boosts the production of collagen and elastin to improve the appearance of firmness and elasticity for supple, younger-looking skin.

Goldfaden MD Needle-less Line Smoothing Concentrate, £100

The packaging may look ‘natural’ but don’t be fooled. Formulated with 100% pure hyaluronic acid and advanced anti-aging hexapeptides, this serum plumps, tightens and fills fine lines and deep creases. If nothing else, the burst of nutrient-rich seaweed extract, gives your skin a luminous glow, every time.

Perricone MD Instant Tightening Serum, £55.20

This serious skincare range prides itself on salmon, yes, really. Thankfully there’s no potent fishy odour accompanying the fast-acting results this serum achieves. Formulated with Dr. Perricone's signature patented ingredient – DMAE – as well as alpha lipoic acid, this serum immediately gets to work tightening your skin, giving it a smooth-to-the-touch feeling too.

Fillerina Dermo Cosmetic Filler Treatment Grade 1, £85

If a fear of needles isn't your reason for avoiding fillers or Botox, then this is a great choice for you. Dubbed the 'non-injectable alternative to Botox', this is a two-part process which applies a replenishing gel to fine lines and along cheekbones, followed by a nourishing firm cream all over, and promises results that last up to four months.

Dr. Barbara Sturm Hyaluronic Ampoules, £132

These one-a-day ampoules come with serious skincare credentials. Using a combination of short and long-chained hyaluronic acid molecules the formula helps to plump skin instantaneously, as well as having a longer-term effect. Although the packaging looks medicinal, the ampoules ensure your skin gets the perfect amount of product. Plus, unlike many hardcore formulas, it’s gentle enough for sensitive skins.
