What’s New In Ibiza This Year

Aside from being dubbed the party playground of Spain, Ibiza also offers stunning coastline and some of the most stylish hotels and restaurants in the Mediterranean. Serena Cook of concierge and events company Deliciously Sorted talks us through Ibiza’s coolest new launches giving you renewed reason to visit the White Isle.

HOTELS

W Hotel, Santa Eulalia

Its beachside restaurant, Chiringuito Blue, might have opened to great acclaim last year, but this summer the 162-bedroom W Hotel will finally open in its entirety. Billed as a new entertainment hub, W Ibiza will launch three distinct concepts designed for dining, drinking and relaxing. Alongside these, there’ll be a lively rooftop sunset bar and adults-only pool. A second pool will have direct access to the beachfront promenade and the white sands of Santa Eulalia beach. Chiringuito Blue will continue to offer sea views and an interesting food and drink menu focusing on local, sustainable produce: menus have been devised by MasterChef Israel judge Haim Cohen and include the likes of yellowtail sashimi with tomato seeds, lemon and coriander; and Andalusian-style crispy calamari.

Casa Maca, Can Palau

Casa Maca is an intimate, rural hotel located in the peaceful hills of Can Palau, just outside of Ibiza Town and within minutes of the airport. With spectacular views of the iconic Dalt Vila skyline – the ancient fortress walls, blue skies and the Mediterranean Sea – Casa Maca offers a beautiful setting to relax in. Fields of lavender frame the whitewashed main building, a 300-year-old former farmhouse that has been restored with respect to its architectural heritage. Open year-round, Casa Maca has just ten rooms to ensure total tranquility for guests, while the high-end Mediterranean restaurant welcomes both locals and visitors.

7Pines Resort, Sant Josep de Sa Talaia

The ultra-modern 7 Pines Resort opened at the end of 2018 and is now taking bookings for the summer season. This luxury resort is an ideal place to unwind – the grounds encompass Pure Seven, a 1,500sq m wellness centre inspired by the Mediterranean lifestyle, which offers a range of treatments from massages to medical aesthetics. There are four restaurants and bars on site – we like the sound of the Pershing Yacht Terrace. But it’s the accommodation that’s really caught our attention: sprawling gardens surround this luxurious Ibizan-style village that offers 186 spacious one- and two-bedroom suites. Many come with private pools and cliff-top views of the sea.
