Our Fashion Editor’s Picks Of The Month

From high street accessories to lust-worthy new collections, SL’s Fashion Editor Charlotte Collins runs you through this month’s must-have, must-know and must-see fashion…

The Beachwear: Oysho

This isn’t the first time I’ve highlighted Oysho for swimwear, and it won’t be the last either. The oft-underrated label happens to be Zara’s younger sister, and produces some of the coolest, most affordable bikinis and one pieces year after year. This summer, I’m looking to slick block colour swimsuits and bright African-inspired prints for a fun beach look.

The Collection: Nanushka

Chances are you’ll recognise Nanushka’s designs, even if the name isn’t familiar, because we’ve been subtly featuring the brand for months on SL. Their SS19 campaign is enough to persuade even the most militant sceptic that head-to-toe satin pyjama suiting is a win, and that soft, pale neutrals can look impossibly chic when styled correctly.

The Doppleganger: Zara Sandals

Isabel Marant’s chunky cream sandals set fashion hearts aflutter last season, but you don’t have to shell out a fortune to get the look this summer, thanks to Zara’s identikit design. With their thick black sole, cream straps and gold hardware, they’re an expensive-looking winner with everything from denim to dresses.

The Cover: Zoe Kravitz x Vogue

Thanks to a much-lauded turn in TV smash hit Big Little Lies, Zoe Kravitz has become the face that graced a thousand covers, and this month it’s the turn of British Vogue. Shot by legendary photographer Stephen Meisel, the shoot harps back to a time when fashion magazines were about, well, fashion, instead of celebrity; the actress models new season couture like a true pro.

The High Street Collection: Reiss

Reiss really is so good right now. The perennial go-to for great occasion wear, this spring/summer they’re boasting slick, grown-up jumpsuits, floral midi dresses, party-ready maxis… whether you’re after something for Ascot or a wedding, they’ve got you covered.

The Muse: Anna Winck

Let me introduce your new Instagram obsession, Anna Winck. Assistant to top stylist Hanna Mw, her eclectic style is the kind you can’t replicate – tutus paired with knitted vests, trenches with tasselled skirts and oversized leather jackets with denim cut offs all make for unexpected, yet impossibly cool, inspo.

The New Brand: Honna London

Pyjamas are having a bit of a moment, and new brand Honna is ensuring it stays that way. Their luxe, oversized striped PJs come in the softest cotton and a variety of shades – cosy up at home or wear open over a bikini for a relaxed holiday look.

The Investment Piece: A Loewe Coat

From slick leather trenches to cropped, hooded shearling coats, no one is doing layering like Loewe for autumn. The Spanish label has gone from strength to strength with Jonathan Anderson at the helm, and its offering for later in the year is only getting us more excited about what’s in store for the future.
