Everything You Need To Know About Copenhagen Fashion Week | sheerluxe.com
Gone are the days when New York, London, Milan and Paris were the only fashion weeks worth knowing. Copenhagen, the epicentre of Scandinavian design, has become a bona fide destination thanks to the stratospheric rise of Scandi brands, and last week’s five-day schedule of shows and street style proved it’s well worth its new status as a style capital. We’ve rounded up the brands to know, the best dressed, and the best looks from our new favourite fashion week…
Favourites 4

Names like Stine Goya, Saks Potts and Ganni have all risen to prominence thanks to the CPHFW platform. Bright colours, dramatic cuts and a sizeable dose of patent and leather characterize the mood of the collections, whilst Cecilie Bahsen’s impossibly feminine display was undoubtedly the most ‘grammed offering of the week.

Cecilie Bahnsen

The puff sleeves, the tulle skirts, the bow details, the pink fabrics… there wasn’t a girl out there, on the FROW or otherwise, who didn’t fall for the charms of Cecilie Bahsen this season. The designer’s signature look has already dictated much of this summer’s trends (those full-sleeve, full-bodied Zara dresses had to come from somewhere) and judging by the out pouring of love for this latest collection, that doesn’t look set to change.

By Malene Birger

Malene Birger’s fresh, white colour palette typified that pared-back, effortless aesthetic so associated with the Scandi scene. Even the most dramatic of jackets and dresses were paired with flat black sliders for a high/low balance.

Ganni shows no signs of relenting its Western influence for SS20. Lashings of denim, cowboy boots and leather were softened with pastel satins and unexpected pops of colour – plus, the brand confirmed its status as the most fun name in fashion with a rain-drenched, dance-filled show that set Instagram alight.

Saks Potts

More Western vibes at Saks Potts this season; think oversized denim jackets, cowboy-inspired accessories and, of course, the head-to-toe brown leather look you can’t un-see. Renowned for their statement coats and bold prints, the brand’s evolution feels grown-up – definitely one to watch.

Influencers descended on Copenhagen in their hundreds last week, but three in particular stood out for their killer style and numerous outfit changes…

Here's how to get the look of some of CPHFW's best dressed...

Head to toe neutrals still reign supreme in Copenhagen – a relaxed shirt and palazzo trousers offer a wearable everyday take.

Balance out Cecilie Bahnsen’s attention-grabbing puff sleeves with laidback straight leg trousers.

Look 3

Dress up a denim boiler suit with minimal heels and a metallic clutch.

Look 4

Cecilie Bahnsen’s cloud-like dresses have become an influencer favourite – make like Bettina and pair with mid heel mules and oversized earrings.
