FRAGRANCE: Baie by Le Labo

Le Labo’s new fragrance Baie 19 smells like petrichor – the crisp, wet, drenched smell the earth gives off after it’s rained. Baie 19 mixes smells of dry juniper berry, patchouli and green leaves to create a gorgeous, autumnal scent that’s really long lasting. This one’s going straight on our Christmas lists.

JACKET: Jane & Tash

We’ve long been into Jane & Tash’s reliable parkas, but this season it’s a leather biker that has fashion fans flocking. This cream, oversized style is a seriously cool alternative to classic black leather – wear over thin knits with rolled-up sleeves for a tough but feminine layering solution.

BOOK: Supreme Models

To date, there has never been a book devoted exclusively to black models. Supreme Models fills that void, paying tribute to black models past and present: from the first to be featured in catalogues and on magazine covers, like Iman, Beverly Johnson and Donyale Luna, to the supermodels who reigned in the 90s – Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell. The book also observes the newest generation of models – Adwoa Aboah, Jourdan Dunn and Joan Smalls – who are shaking up the fashion industry by speaking out about racial prejudice.

THEATRE: Lungs

Overpopulation, political unrest, melting ice caps – we’re going to hell in a handcart, so why would someone bring a baby into this world? Directed by Matthew Warchus, The Crown’s Claire Foy and Matt Smith have reunited to make their Old Vic debuts in Duncan Macmillan’s hilarious, emotional rollercoaster of a play, as a couple wrestle with our planet’s biggest issues. A must-see.

RESTAURANT: Stoney Street

Following the success of 26 Grains in Neal’s Yard, Alex Hely-Hutchinson will open Stoney Street in Borough Market this month. Named after the street it’s on, the restaurant will be open from breakfast through to dinner, focusing on simple seasonal dishes made with carefully considered produce. Come evening, candles will be lit and the kitchen will dish up the likes of pollock with fennel, orange, olives and braised lentils; pappardelle with wild mushroom, sorrel and tarragon sauce; and bavette with swiss chard, taleggio and slow-roasted shallots.

FILM: Yves Saint Laurent

Back in 1998, Pierre Bergé, long-term partner of Yves Saint Laurent, invited a film crew to follow their lives. But after three years of filming, Bergé forbade the finished documentary from being screened. Now, finally, Yves Saint-Laurent: The Last Collections is set to hit cinemas, after he granted permission before his death. Expect never-before-seen footage of the designer at work, as well as an intimate look at his personal relationships. If you liked House of Z and Dior and I, this is for you.
