The Best New Beauty Buys For March

The Best New Beauty Buys For March

From skin-loving make-up to biodegradable haircare, this month’s new beauty buys are as good as ever. Here’s what’s on our wish-list right now…

BRAND SHOUT OUT

Skin In Motion

Dubbed as exercise-friendly ‘skinwear’ (yes, your heard us right) this brand has been designed by make-up artist, runner and rosacea sufferer, Gia Mills. The line includes a tinted moisturiser, a waterproof mascara, cooling mist and wipes – all of which are non-pore clogging, sweat-proof and soothing with mint and liquorice extracts. As for the base, expect subtle coverage that feels hydrating and keeps red, inflammation at bay.

SOPHISTICATED SKINCARE:

MILK Vegan Moisturising Cleanser, £14

With a soufflé texture, MILK’s new vegan cleanser uses a blend of fig, oat, argan and desert milks to sweep away make-up, and feed moisture back into skin. The addition of grapeseed and olive-derived oils regulates sebum (which means fewer breakouts) while the one-of-a-kind formula helps skin retain hydration. It’s thick too, so there’s no need to double cleanse.

Available at CultBeauty.co.uk

Zelens Z Hyaluron Serum Drops, £55

Zelens is loved by dermatologists for its cutting-edge formulas and ingredients which always deliver noticeable results. Their new Hyaluron Serum Drops don’t disappoint, either. With three pure forms of hyaluronic acid, a thin layer cocoons skin with instant moisture, while succinic acid boosts collagen production for plumper, smoother skin. Use post-cleanse and pre-moisturiser – you’ll see a difference in just a couple of days.

Sisley Black Rose Eye Contour Fluid, £108

You’ll never get rid of dark circles, but you can diffuse their appearance. This new illuminator from Sisley, with may rose water and a natural fragrance, works over time to brighten, strengthen and minimise any dull patches. The pearly tint left behind not only improves the appearance of skin, the cooling feel is seriously satisfying. Expensive, but worth it, a little also goes a long way.

Cosmydor Essential Care Lavender Cream, £35

These pared back moisturisers from France work for hands and face, with skin-softening oils and shea butter. The light texture offers a dewy radiance, so make-up sits well on top, too.

Available at Net-A-Porter.com

NEW FRAGRANCE TO KNOW:

Jo Malone Lavender & Coriander Cologne, £50

Lavender typically conjures up an old-fashioned smell, so we were pleasantly surprised by how modern Jo Malone’s latest offering is. Balanced with coriander and sage, it has a musky dry down that lingers all day, while cream tonka bean adds extra warmth. Prepare to be hooked.

MAKE-UP MARVELS:

Glossier Skywash Eyeshadows, £15

If you’ve not yet seen these all over Instagram, expect to soon. Despite being matte, these lid tints apply sheer, with a buildable consistency. With just a hint of colour, these are best if you prefer make-up to be on the subtle side. Our favourite shade is Pebble, a soft, suits-all taupe, although the orange and blue tones make a fun choice, too. A great way to play with colour, while still looking low maintenance.

Available at Glossier.com

NARS Powerchrome Loose Eye Pigment, £22

These little pots are loaded with metallic pigment for intense colour payoff. With a feather-soft feel, there are six available shades, all of which blend together beautifully. Once applied they stay put, delivering crease-free colour that hits the light beautifully. Use a small amount at the inner and outer corners of the eye for a look which is more daytime appropriate.

Lancôme X Mert & Marcus Highlight Duo Stick, £25.50

Lancôme have partnered with fashion photographers Mert + Marcus for their latest collection. Delivering everything from eyeshadow palettes to liquid liners and statement-making lipsticks, it’s a range guaranteed to please any beauty junkie. Our favourite? The limited edition Teint Idole Ultra Duo Stick which works to highlight cheekbones and lids. It has a texture akin to Vaseline, but without any of the tell-tale stickiness. With zero shimmer, it delivers that fresh-from-a-facial glow we all want.

MAC More Than Meets The Eye Brows Fibre Gel

Spied backstage at this season’s shows, MAC’s new brow gel uses little fibres to latch onto each individual hair for a fuller finish. It takes all of five seconds to sweep on and quickly sets uneven hairs into place, while filling any sparse gaps with believable colour. Designed to tie into the brow lamination trend, expect full, glossy brows which stay put.

BEST IN BASE:

Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Base

Merging the benefits of both a powder and liquid foundation, this hybrid formula gives skin a flatteringly semi-matte and velvet-like glow. Its unique texture dries down fast with a self-setting formula. It’s non-acnegenic as well, which means any excess oil is contained to prevent breakouts, while the power protein complex keeps skin’s texture smooth. Available in 28 shades, SPF20 provides extra protection.

Available 12th March

Estée Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Foundation, £36

Sitting somewhere between skincare and full-coverage foundation, Estée Lauder’s latest base is light in texture, endlessly blendable and invisible to the eye – except for the radiant glow it leaves behind. Chia-seed extracts and probiotic technology keep skin balanced and hydrated so foundation never cakes or feels tight.

Available at JohnLewis.com

Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primer Collection, £32

Fans of Laura Mercier will be aware of their cult primers, but now they’ve been reinvented with more skincare benefits and silicone-free formulas. Designed to address specific concerns while offering airbrushed results, there are five new primers to choose from, offering everything from protection to extra illumination and hydration. We’re huge fans of their Perfecting base, which uses aloe vera, vitamin C and green tea extract to brighten and hydrate, while creating a protective barrier that extends the life of your make-up.

HAIR HERO:

Wet Brush Go Green Detangler, £14.99

When does a Wet Brush become more than just another Wet Brush? When it’s planet-friendly and completely biodegradable. Made from plant starch, it will break down in landfill within five years, so when you’re ready to replace it, you can do so guilt-free. It’s just as effective as the original too – designed with the same sleek, shiny handle and fine flexible bristles that are ideal for eliminating knots and reinvigorating your scalp.

A first of its kind, this hair and body treatment candle was created to deliver a luxe experience, but also cut down a time-consuming routine. Light it, take some time to inhale the herbal eucalyptus scent, and then drizzle it over your skin and massage in the nourishing, warm oils, relieving tension as you go.
