The Best New Beauty Buys For April

The Best New Beauty Buys For April

From stress-relieving skincare to new luxe make-up and a fragrance you’re guaranteed to love, this month’s new beauty buys are as good as ever. Here’s what’s on our wish-list…

BRAND SHOUT OUT:

Faace

New brand Faace was created by a team of beauty industry experts – including journalists, bloggers, make-up artists, aromatherapists and scientists – with one primary goal: to take things back-to-basics with a no BS, capsule mask collection. Masks including Period Faace, Tired Faace and Sweaty Faace, all target individual concerns with a blend of hard-working ingredients, ranging from salicylic acid (a blemish-busting hero), vitamin C (for its antioxidant properties) and argan oil (to replace moisture loss). The brand has also partnered up with Hey Girls – an environmentally-friendly period product brand which aims to tackle period poverty. Every mask sold means one pack of period products is donated to someone in need.

INNOVATIVE SKINCARE:

CBD Miracle Patches, £30

If the current situation has left you feeling stressed and uptight, look to these patches. They’re heat-activated and deliver 8mg of CBD directly onto the skin and into the bloodstream over the course of 24 hours. Apply it to a hairless part of your skin (such as your inner arm) to reap the benefits. We were surprised how effective they were.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep Night Cream, £43

We love any product that does the job while we sleep, without the need for a ten-step regime. Cue iT Cosmetics’ latest cream which uses a cocktail of actives to plump skin and minimise the appearance of fine lines, while hyaluronic acid locks in moisture for an all-day glow. The formula is thick, so use it sparingly.

NEW FRAGRANCE TO KNOW:

Escentric Molecule 05 EDP, £82

Fans of Escentric Molecule are guaranteed to love the latest addition to the cult range. Launching just in time for summer, 05 smells of pine, bark, leaves and bergamot for unisex appeal. On first spritz, musky pine soon dries down into a fresh, zingy layer that then lasts on the skin for hours. It’s addictive and unique – the kind of scent guaranteed to earn you compliments.

MAKE-UP MARVELS:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Brag Mascara, £26

Best-selling brow brand Anastasia Beverly Hills has recently expanded its well-loved range with a new mascara. And the long-awaited product doesn’t disappoint. With a jet-black colour, a couple of sweeps gives full-bodied volume with minimal clumping. It stays wet upon application, so there’s time to layer up and reshape throughout the day for a freshly applied finish. A must-try for 2020.

Charlotte Tilbury Eye Color Magic Luxury Palettes, £40

Just when you thought Charlotte Tilbury couldn’t get any better, she drops a new line of palettes dedicated to individual eye colours. Copper Charge is designed for those with blue eyes (think molten metallic and bronze hues), while Super Blue is ideal for brown eyes, featuring rich, vivid blues and soft, shimmering taupe tones. There’s something for everyone, with all the shadows designed to work with others in the range.

Fenty Match Stix Glow Skinstick, £21

We love a glossy, highlight stick, with Fenty’s new launch the latest to lend a dewy sheen to skin. With minimal shimmer, it gives a translucent glossiness that suits all skin tones. Whether you wear it on cheekbones, lids, the cupid’s bow or on top of other eyeshadows, the non-sticky texture offers a lightweight luminosity you’ll love.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Concealer, £34.50

Following in the footsteps of their much-loved Luminous Silk foundation, this concealer lends the same radiant coverage, with a thick applicator that covers a wide surface area. In-built pearls lend radiance, while glycerine and vitamin E keep skin hydrated (good news for around the eyes).

Kilian Rouge Feu Matte Lipstick, £42

The epitome of luxury, Kilian’s beautiful lipsticks are iconic, and now there are 20 new shades. Rich reds and pinks deliver warmth and fullness, with a creamy, matte texture that sculpts lips into high-pigment perfection. Our favourite is Rouge Feu – a deep red that’s universally flattering. Bonus: they’re fragranced, too.

NARS Blush in Orgasm X £25

NARS has launched a new Spring 2020 edit of blushers designed to suit everyone. Ten new shades and 16 existing options range from ultra-sheer to vibrant, deep colours. Our favourite is the latest take on the brand’s cult Orgasm shade – the new formulation is a deep, coral pink with minimal shimmer, so you can pull it off with a no-make-up make-up look. The velvety texture glides on like a dream, too.

BODY BEAUTIFIERS:

Caudalie Vinosculpt Lift & Firm Body Cream, £27

Rich and luxurious, fast-absorbing and non-sticky, Caudalie’s brand-new body cream ticks all the boxes. With a whipped cream texture, it uses omega 6, vitamin E and grapeseed oil to firm and tone skin, while shea butter delivers noticeable hydration after just a few days. Great for anyone who struggles with dryness, or those common, red bumps under the surface of the skin.

Kopari Coconut Body Glow, £26

Summer may feel some way off, but that doesn’t stop us wanting to look and feel glow-y all year round. Kopari’s illuminating oil has been dubbed a ‘fast-track ticket’ to radiant, sun-drenched skin. Use a little over legs, arms, décolleté and collarbones – or mix into your foundation for believable luminescence. The coconut scent will make you feel like you’re abroad – even when you couldn’t feel further from it.

CULT HAIR HERO:

Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Shampoo & Conditioner, £22

Loved for their infamous Bum Bum Cream, Sol de Janeiro have now launched haircare, using the same addictive scent. With nourishing Brazilian ingredients, the shampoo/conditioner duo works to tame and condition dry, frizzy locks, while making strands more manageable. Enriched with keratin, expect less breakage, a healthier appearance and extra glossiness, too – even for blondes. An investment, but so worth it.
