The Concept: Vestiaire Collective launched in Paris in 2009 and now boasts over 9 million members. The idea is to sell and shop items you or others might have fallen out of love with to give them a new lease of life - and with over 6,000 new items dropping on site daily, chances are you will find a treasure or two.
The Platform: Allowing you to buy and sell the hottest designer products out there, Vestiaire Collective checks and authenticates items. As a buyer, you can either bid for or buy an item outright, before the product is sent to Vestiaire HQ to be put through quality control. As a seller, simply upload your item to the site or via the app, and wait for the offers to roll in.
The Selection: The range of designers is immense, with a huge selection of some of fashion’s most hot ticket items – think Birkin bags, Balenciaga trainers, Hermes bracelets and Gucci belts. There are endless pages of Chanel bags, from classic styles to cool, cult versions, along with vintage jewellery and accessory selections from some of the biggest fashion names, plus more affordable contemporary names.
The Product: The good news is not everything is high end – from Sandro to The Kooples, Faithfull to Loveshack, there's something for everyone. It’s also the place to turn for limited edition runs – if you loved that Supreme piece or that Rimowa collab, but didn’t get your hands on it first time round, chances are you’ll find it here.
The Shipping: There’s now a special tab on the platform for pre-approved items. Head to Express Delivery for the items the platform has on hand, and can reach you ASAP – right now, there’s Marant, Ganni, Sezane and Gucci in the mix. Alternatively, use Direct Shipping, which allows your to buy directly from some of the sites most trusted and expert sellers.
This Season: For summer 2020, the platform is launching a series of virtual sales, designed to emulate that festival feeling. Described as a ‘digital celebration’, expect online flash sales and community challenges, in which you can compete to be the best first time seller to win prizes. This Friday 12th June welcomes The Dive, in which a roster of designer products will have hourly price drops - just like the selected pieces for the chance to nab them.
