The Black Swan
We were envious of Yorkshire locals when Great British Menu winner Tommy Banks first started selling his high-end meal boxes to those living near The Black Swan at Oldstead and Roots in York. Now, he’s gone nationwide. Featuring produce grown both on and around the Banks’ farm and from the restaurant’s local suppliers, there are two options are available – the Made in Oldstead Food Box (£75) and the Celebration Box (£120), both delivered to the door and ready for the oven. Menus change weekly, but expect the likes of smoked ham hock terrine served with gherkin ketchup; glazed spring lamb shoulder and maris bard potatoes, grown 100-yards from Tommy’s house; and elderflower drizzle cake with cream cheese icing. Delivered each Friday and available for pre-order from the previous Saturday, the Made in Oldstead Food Box includes two different menus, each containing a three-course meal for two. These sell out every week, so get in quick.
Simon Rogan At Home is the Michelin-starred chef’s way of extending a little Cartmel hospitality to its customers during lockdown. The team offers a range of options: from a three-course L’Enclume meal (where dishes include the likes of jersey royals with horseradish and pike roe; roasted lamb shoulder with celeriac and ramson capers; and strawberry and elderflower tart) served with a wine flight, to veg boxes, a selection of ready-to-pour cocktails, plus the forthcoming option to privately hire one of the team to create your own dinner party – in a socially distanced manner of course.
Hide is offering delivery for the first time, allowing diners to sample Ollie Dabbous’ Michelin-starred food at home. A special menu has been created featuring dishes that travel well, including grilled aubergines with honey and sherry vinegar, fava puree, salted cheese, and fresh oregano; as well as roast sea bream and squid with smoked olive oil, watermelon salsa, new potato salad and charred runner beans. This week, the team have launched a picnic package for those looking to add a touch of luxury to their lockdown socialising. ‘The Picnic in the Park’ selection is priced at £28pp and is available for collection from Hide, opposite Green Park and a short walk to both Hyde Park and St James’ Park. The hamper includes green olives with garlic, lemon and rosemary; H. Forman & Son smoked salmon lemon; croque monsieur with optional black truffle; green salad; and a strawberry and custard tartlet. Fizz and wines are also available to take away.

Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill
Londoners can experience one of the country’s most famed fish restaurants, Bentley’s Oyster Bar & Grill, at home via Richard Corrigan’s new concept, Mr Oyster Boy. The initiative offers a range of signature Bentley’s dishes, as well as a few specials that will change weekly, including half a native lobster with salad ‘tartare’; lobster bisque with tarragon and brandy cream; and a classic fish pie. For the first time in its 100-year history, Bentley’s is offering brunch hampers for four people, with proceeds of each box sold going to homelessness charity Under One Sky. The Bentley’s Picnic Hamper, also available via Mr Oyster Boy, is filled with ready-to-eat items and feeds two to four people – ideal for park lunches. As well as ready-to-eat items, an online shop sells Corrigan’s famous Irish treacle soda bread, smoked salmon and more.
