16 Antique Finds Of The Month

Each month we’re aiming to take the hard work out of finding the best antique pieces. From a Chippendale writing table to the sideboard of dreams, here’s what we’ve spied in the online marketplace recently...


Elm Bobbin Corner Side Chair, £1,200

This uniquely designed, asymmetrical, corner bobbin chair from the 1890s was manufactured in England. The vintage item remains fully functional, with its four mini wheels still attached. It has been reupholstered, but may show some signs of ageing and minimal defects.

Vintage Bamboo Chest of Drawers, £330

From Ceraudo, this tall and charming vintage chest of drawers is made of bamboo and cane. It boasts six drawers, and although commensurate with age, shows overall good structural condition.

French 19th Century Painted Bediside Table, £350

This 19th century French bedside table dates from around 1880. Even so, the neutral grey colourway would make it an easy fit in most contemporary schemes.

Victorian Mahogany Marble Topped Washstand, £325


The Victorian washstand is a classic piece, dating from circa 1880. With an elegant white marble top, single drawer and standing on turned legs, it would make fantastic side or console table.

70s Vintage Boho Bamboo Balcony Bistro Table & Chair Set, £228


Bring back the 70s vibe with this boho bamboo table and chair set. Perfect for inside or out – either in a cosy nook, bay window, sun porch or balcony – the chairs come with beautiful woven crisscrossing ratten strappings. In excellent vintage condition for its age with only a few scuffs.

19th Century Large Swedish Dining Table With 3 Leaves, £4,400


Dating from circa 1860, this dining table looks utterly contemporary. Just add feminine, modern linens and decorative flowers for a stunning tablescape. It’s an investment – but it’s enviable condition more than justifies the price tag.

Hollywood Regency Italian Brass Etagere, £342


An Italian etagere in the Hollywood regency style of the 1970s, the body is made of gilded brass, while the tops have been delicately crafted using smoked glass. A very interesting and rare piece of furniture in very good condition.
