The Skin Treatments To Blur Fine Lines

The Skin Treatments To Blur Fine Lines

Skin-perfecting treatments won’t get rid of fine lines for good, but the right ones can blur and diffuse their appearance for a smoother looking complexion. Here, we share those that come highly recommended…

1

Avon Anew Perfect Skin Instant Blurring Treatment, £12

Recommended by make-up artists and skincare experts alike, this blur cream is one of the best – and most affordable – on the market. Apply it alone or mixed with foundation for a more refined finish. Either way, it stays put for hours, while shrinking the appearance of both pores and fine crêpe-y lines. Ideal for those who are prone to oiliness, too.

2

Trinny Miracle Blur, £26

This skin-smoothing formula is so popular, it’s sold out four times – once within a 24-hour period. Thankfully, it’s now available again. Designed to mimic the effects of a retouching tool, this silicone-based cream irons out wrinkles, uneven tone and any surface bumps – including pitting from acne scars. Use it over make-up, or under, for best results. Added collagen and elastin also help to boost skin condition over time for a plumper, more youthful look.

3

L’Oréal Paris RevitaLift Miracle Blur Cream, £21.96

A brand bestseller, this blur cream is regularly spied in make-up artist kits backstage. Formulated with opti-blur technology, it diffuses light on the skin for a soft-focus effect, while minimising imperfections, too. Apply it after your moisturiser, massaging it into the skin for a seamless blend. You can also mix it with your foundation for a more even finish. You’ll find this goes the distance too – it lasts for hours after application, with visible results that stay put.

4

Farsali Liquid Powder, £50

Bridging the gap between make-up and skincare, this innovative liquid-to-powder serum is dubbed a ‘Photoshop filter’ for good reason. Using French pink clay and hazel tonic, it absorbs excess oil and evens out skin tone, fine lines and uneven texture, all while creating a smooth base for make-up. Given how matte and velvet-y it leaves the skin, chances are you’ll want to skip foundation altogether. Expensive, but worth it for the glass-like finish.

5

Indeed Labs Nanoblur Instant Skin Finisher, £19.99

Cool brand Indeed Labs are known for their skin perfectors, and this finisher always receives rave reviews. Designed to plump out and fill in fine lines, scarring or dips in the skin, it uses a nano-optic prism complex for a veil of smoothness. It also combats oiliness, without leaving the skin feeling dry or chalky. A must-try for all skin types – but especially those seeking a long-lasting, matte look.

6

Kiehl’s Micro Blur Skin Perfector, £25

This putty cream is great for those wanting to achieve clearer, smoother-looking skin. Using sustainably sourced ingredients (including bark extract and lipo hydroxyl acid) it works to improve overall skin quality, while tightening pores and smoothing out fine lines. It can be applied day or night, but works particularly well while you sleep, as this is when lipo hydroxy gets to work gently renewing the skin for long-term results. The only downside? We wish it came in a bigger tube.

7

StriVectin Liner Blurfector Primer, £20.10 (was £29.50)

Described as a ‘skincare infused primer’, this uses optical blurring microspheres and vitamin B3 to fill and blur the appearance of wrinkles, while also preventing make-up from settling into fine lines. What’s more, the vitamin-enriched formula strengthens the skin’s moisture barrier, as well as protecting against pollution or environmental damage. Wear it solo for a younger-looking complexion, or with make-up to lock in its wear. Great for mature skin types.
