While tights with recognisable logos aren’t exactly new, the first brand to send the trend viral was Gucci, whose pair have been an influencer favourite for a couple of years now. Others, like Burberry, Fendi and most notably Chanel, have all followed suit, offering fans an accessible way to wear the label.
From delicate low denier to metallic wool jacquard and fishnet designs, logo tights come in a variety of styles. Chanel’s minute logos double up as polka dots from a distance, but if ‘go big or go home’ is more your mantra, there are plenty of statement pairs to try too – just look to Fendi and Burberry.
Despite the current restrictions, Chanel’s SS21 show was one which went ahead as (close to) normal this season. With several VIPs dressed in the brand for the occasion, the mini ‘CC’ tights have since become a standout piece, subsequently selling out despite their £315 price tag. Fashion lovers have, naturally, searched for alternatives from competitor brands, leading to an overall surge in demand.
All the influencers you’d expect to be at a Chanel fashion show have now been spotted in the brand’s hosiery. LouLou De Saison, Emili Sindlev, Pernille Teisbaek, Camille Charriere – you name it, they’ve worn them. Unfortunately, getting hold of a pair is now like gold dust, but as the likes of Debora Rosa and Stephanie Arant prove, Gucci makes an equally stylish alternative that’s still readily available.
Logo tights will give your outfit a preppy feel – whether that’s paired with a black mini dress or shorts and a chunky knit. If £100 feels too frivolous to spend on hosiery, the high street has plenty of pretty polka dot tights that will replicate the look.
