BBC Lessons At Home

To help children learn at home during lockdown 3.0 – and ease the pressures of home schooling on parents –the BBC is providing daily televised lessons for school children of all ages. CBBC currently has a three-hour block of primary school lessons from 9am, covering a range of subjects, while BBC Two is running two hours’ worth of educational programmes for secondary school students every week, which will include Shakespeare plays, science lessons and history shows. The lessons will also be available to watch on demand via BBC iPlayer.

The Little Gym At Home

Joe Wicks isn’t the only one providing PE lessons for kids during lockdown – The Little Gym has over 80 classes for babies and children available on their YouTube channel. Each class has been designed by experts, with the aim of improving children’s cognitive development. The channel also has a range of guides to help children master gymnastics tricks, like forward rolls, handstands and cartwheels, plus playlists for different ages, up to the age of 12.

Mindfulness For Mums By Izzy Judd

Maddie Moate Videos

Keep the little ones entertained at home with Maddie Moates’s online videos. The award-winning CBeebies presenter and YouTuber has hundreds of videos for children on her website, with educational clips on everything from science and wildlife, to arts and crafts and cooking. London’s Little Thinkers (LLT) is an online community which aims to share educational and engaging ideas for children. Now, in response to the latest lockdown, LLT has announced a new pen pal scheme to support children at home. Through their Instagram page, they will connect children of similar ages with a pen pal, who can then send letters or drawings to each other.
