The New West London Restaurant To Book Now

Everyone knows Chelsea is one of London’s top neighbourhoods for restaurants – but now there’s a new spot on the Brompton Road that all foodies should have on their radar. An instant hit when it opened late last year, My & Sanné is the place to book for a fun brunch or cocktails with the girls this weekend. Here’s why it’s worth a visit…

CREATED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MY & SANNÉ

The Location...

My & Sanné is a newly opened restaurant on Brompton Road. Just down the road from Harrods and close to the V&A, this is an ideal spot for those on the hunt for a mid-shopping or post-museum pitstop. The design-focused restaurant serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu and is the latest venture from the father-and-son team behind the popular collection of L’eto Caffés. The restaurant and bar is open from breakfast through to late-night cocktails and offers everything from a quick coffee in floral surroundings to romantic three-course dinners on its terrace.

The Setting...

Surely one of the most plant-filled restaurants in the capital, the interiors are designed to make guests feel as if they are dining inside an elegant greenhouse. The ceiling is painted in Instagram-ready pastel colours and is covered in an abundance of flowers, string lights and hanging lanterns. Further trails of flowers flow throughout the restaurant, while its bistro seats, planters, hanging vintage watering cans, urns and trellises all add to the indoor/outdoor theme. In short, it’s an ideal place to soak up some summer atmosphere, even if the weather outside isn’t up to scratch – although there is a lovely suntrap terrace for bright days and cosy evenings.

The Food...

With a Mediterranean focus, the restaurant specialises in regional dishes with hints of Greek, Italian and Asian flavours. Mornings at My & Sanné start with a selection of smoothies (such as the ‘Mad Squirrel’ – apricot, dates, peanut butter, oats, hemp seeds, banana, oat milk, salt and Okinawa sugar), heritage juices (we like the sound of ‘Alice Goes East’, a mix of grapefruit, turmeric powder, yuzu, pear and rhubarb) and heartier dishes such as nine-grain pancakes with maple syrup and cultured butter; ‘nduja eggs benedict; french toast brûlée; and overnight oats with chia seeds, coconut yoghurt, earl grey poached pear, caramelised almonds and hibiscus powder. For those after something a little more indulgent, look out for its bottomless brunches, which take place on certain weekends.

Lunch and dinner menus focus on well-sourced meat and fish – such as summery crab burgers and black seafood spaghetti – while also providing plenty of choice for vegetarians and vegans. The kitchen’s most popular dishes include raw artichoke salad with Puglian burrata and avocado; Singapore-style crab leg in a crispy bao bun; asparagus and truffle risotto; and lobster linguine. When it comes to dessert, guests can choose a picture-perfect cake, pastry, tart or meringue from the restaurant’s gleaming white counter display, which stretches the entire length of one wall. We love the sound of the dulce de leche served with sweet vanilla milk and the pastry team’s ricotta cheesecake.

The Drinks...

The bar serves up an imaginative list of cocktails, all inspired by Mediterranean flavours. The focus here in on interactive drinks, including the signature ‘My & Sanné’, which features pink strawberry gin, yuzu, cherry brandy, lime juice, prosecco and tonic, served beneath a glass dome filled with smoke; the eye-catching ‘Blue Bird’, featuring vanilla vodka, lime, blue curaçao, yuzu, fresh blueberries and Cointreau poured into a delicate bird-shaped glass; and one of the bar’s bestsellers, the ‘Monkey Punch’, featuring Monkey Shoulder whisky, Amaretto, lemon, passionfruit and egg white. For those after something softer, the team also serves a selection of mocktails (think the ‘Peruvian Nights’, featuring watermelon, guava, agave, lemon, infused jasmine & earl grey tea, egg white and salt), as well as kombucha, juices, turmeric and matcha lattes, wine, beer and champagne.

The Highlight...

While My & Sanné’s location and modern Mediterranean menu consistently draws customers in, it’s the restaurant’s Instagram-worthy interior that really makes this recent opening pop. From the on-trend sage green exterior – complete with striped canopy awning – to the smallest design details, we can see this Chelsea site becoming the backdrop to plenty more nights out – and social posts – this summer.
