Everything I Love Right Now: Alexis Foreman

Brighton-based digital creator and influencer Alexis Foreman is known for her signature minimalist style. A lover of modern classics and neutral tones, including well-cut tailoring and timeless outerwear, here are all the things she’s loving right now…

It’s impossible to name just one favourite designer. I love Jil Sander, The Row and old Céline, so I’m very much looking forward to Phoebe Philo launching her own brand. All of these brands are known for having a very clean, minimal and chic aesthetic – just my cup of tea. The fabrics are beautiful and everything is so well cut – plus, they tend to stick to a neutral colour palette. 

The under-the-radar brands everyone should know about include Stylein – it does some really gorgeous pieces – and Deiji Studios for loungewear and pyjamas. Also Service Works – a brand that ticks all the boxes when I go to Norfolk and I don’t want to think about what I’m wearing. They do cool, cotton utilitarian pieces.

This summer I want to embrace more colour. Well, sort of. Only one colour really – blue. I’ve just started to add some blue shirting to my wardrobe. I just got another one from Matteau and a blue shirt dress from Woera.

I really like my WHITE T-SHIRTS, especially when they’re crisp and fresh.

I’d also like to dip my toe into double denim. It's trending at the moment, but it has to be done in a way that feels elevated and structured – a heavyweight denim overshirt with patch pockets and a tie waist, paired with flared jeans.

The best brand for wardrobe staples has to be Cos. The quality is so good. Also, Sunspel makes a great white t-shirt and I’m also a huge fan of Arket. I really like my white t-shirts, especially when they’re crisp and fresh. I usually have one in reserve which I save for best, and as they get more worn-in, I use them more for layering.

My favourite place to shop is Liberty. If I have a free moment between meetings, I always find myself there. The curation of brands is just fantastic. I also love Merci in Paris – it’s a brilliant place to get ideas.

There are lots of great second-hand shops in Brighton. Wolf & Gypsy Vintage is probably the best one if you’re looking for a more curated collection.


I have a real urge to go to New York again. I’ve been before but it never fails to make you feel alive and excited. I always feel like I’m on a film set. 

My favourite hotel in NYC is on the Bowery. It’s called Sister City and it had just opened when we went. The rooms were nicely done, and it had a lovely roof terrace bar – it’s also in a really convenient location. 

For our next holiday, we’re hoping to go to one of the Greek Islands. I’ve been to Paros six times; it's just so good. There’s a part of Paros called Naoussa and it’s just so cool – lovely winding streets and great for people watching.


The interiors accounts I love include @TheCornerStudio. The woman behind it is called Andrea Lennon, who runs her own shop in Antwerp. Then there’s @CasaGitane based in Amsterdam – I love how the team styles the showroom.

For a bit of wanderlust, I love @TheAdventuresOfUs. I always get really absorbed in their content. It’s just so idyllic and now they’re shooting with a drone so it’s even better – it’s made me really want to go to the Maldives.

I also love following @BettinaLooney. Yes, she has all these amazing things, but it’s the way she captures it – she takes such a retro approach to glamour.

For beauty I follow @EmmaHoareau. I like how she’s quite informal and natural with her content, and she also happens to be a friend. @Nikki.Cruz also makes beautiful content  – and she’s great for hair.


I like to start the day one of two ways. The first is a mixture of greek yogurt, berries and homemade granola – I make my own granola. And I also love eggs royale.

I don’t always carry snacks, but I do love Deliciously Ella’s Chocolate Orange Almonds. Anything nutty and chocolatey. I also love Leon’s chocolate orange brownie.

My FAVOURITE RESTAURANT is Nopi in Soho. I love OTTOLENGHI'S FOOD – if it has aubergine in it, I’ll order it.

The signature dish I like to cook is pulpo a la gallega – octopus tentacles. I also enjoy cooking butternut squash risotto with loads of truffle oil – it always goes down really well with my boys. And I’ve recently got into making tarte tatin, even though I don’t make my own pastry.

At the moment, my favourite restaurant is Nopi in Soho. I love Ottolenghi’s food – if it has aubergine in it, I’ll order it, and the burrata is really good too. There’s a great champagne cocktail with a cherry in it on the drinks menu as well.

My go-to cocktail is probably a dirty martini. There’s a time and a place for an Amaretto sour, too – I love anything with an almondy flavour.


The best book I’ve read is I Am Pilgrim. I can’t wait for Terry Hayes to bring out another. I’ve been chatting to @LizzyHadfield and we’ve already decided on the cast if there’s ever a film adaptation. 

The film I loved recently is Dune. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as sci-fi isn’t usually my thing, but I loved it. Charlotte Rampling was great.
