The Fabric Brand We Love

The Fabric Brand We Love

Introducing colour and pattern into your living space is an art: you don’t want a result which is twee or worse, clashing. Before launching in 2017, Wicklewood spent almost a year perfecting its range to ensure all its designs were complimentary. The result? A fresh, accessible brand which is top of our list when it comes to fabrics and accessories. Here’s why…

The Focus Is On Colour And Pattern

British-born and female-founded, Wickleword specialises in transformational home décor. According to its founders, Caroline Downing and Rosie Axford, it only takes a few small things to make a big impact in any living space. Their preferred aesthetic is bold and beautiful, while the focus is on creating bright and beautiful accessories, such as throw cushions, area rugs, quilts and other decorative accents. All items are designed in the company’s London studio, and ethically crafted by expert artisans using traditional textile techniques.

It Takes A Modern Approach

Like true modern nomads, Caroline and Rosie moved from place to place in their twenties, and sought to breathe life into each new rental by decorating it in their own signature style. Frustrated by the lack of affordable design options, they set out to provide an easy interior design solution, and bridge the gap between high-end and high street. Finally, they wanted to improve access to exclusive fabrics from Blithfield, Wicklewood’s companion company, without the costly mark-up.

Four Design Essentials Make It Easy

Having crafted a curated collection of décor that is made to move with you, Wicklewood’s range focuses on four design essentials: colourful throw cushions; bold area rugs; beautiful bedding; and one-of-a-kind global accent pieces. Whether you live in a flat on the fourth floor or a house with four floors, these design essentials can transform your space, moving from room to room or even home to home.

The Products Work Together

The Caballo cushion remains the signature and best-selling cushion since launch, while The Osborne is another firm favourite. Known as ‘The Connectors’, they’re designed to go with almost every single cushion in the whole collection (which is almost 100-strong). Each works to bring together bright and bolder designs seamlessly.

There’s An Online Design Service

Head online to upload images of a room or piece of furniture you need help with. Wicklewood then superimpose cushions into the photos to help you visualise what pieces will look like in your home. Start by choosing a single product which catches your eye. By building out from a central piece, use colour to bring together different patterns and styles, allowing for an exciting variety of designs and textures without the scheme looking cluttered or over the top.

You Can Even Visit A Wicklewood House

This spring, Wicklewood and Blithfield are opening the doors to Number 72 – their first permanent retail space in Chelsea, London. The shop will be set up like a house, where customers can peruse the living room, bedroom, dining room and garden room, all before grabbing a coffee at the in-house café.
