Leon Soups & Salads
Fast-food brand Leon has launched six new dishes into Sainsbury’s as part of its lunchtime grocery range. The plant-based collection includes hot and cold single-serve lunch options that are ready to eat at home or in the office. The three soups and three salads take their inspiration from Leon’s restaurant menu over the years: think curried coconut and sweet potato rainbow soup, British pea and pesto soup; and our pick, the kale Caesar pasta salad, which swaps classic romaine leaves for shredded kale, riccioli pasta, vegan parmesan shavings and a creamy-vegan Caesar dressing.
Propercorn Caramelised Biscuit
Taking inspiration from this year’s most trend-worthy flavour – Biscoff – Propercorn has launched a Caramelised Biscuit bag of popcorn. The brand’s classic hand-popped popcorn has been blended with warm cinnamon biscuit and a hit of smooth caramel to create an autumn treat. With just 134 calories per 28g serving, the bag contains 63% less sugar and 85% less salt than leading brands, in addition to being high in fibre. As with all snacks in the range, these are vegan, gluten free and made using all-natural seasonings and no palm oil.
M&S Verdita Margarita
Another brand capitalising on one of this year’s zeitgeists is M&S, which has created this ready-to-serve bottled margarita – just in time for party season. This particular blend incorporates pineapple, jalapeno and coriander and is best served poured into a cocktail shaker filled with ice and strained into a rocks glass, before being garnished with a slice of jalapeno.

Hunter & Gather 100% Olive Oil Mayonnaise
Hunter & Gather is well-loved for its range of avocado oil mayonnaises and unsweetened sauces. Fresh from winning the ‘Best of British’ gong at Ocado’s Rising Stars Awards 2021, the team has now produced a trio of 100% olive oil all-natural mayonnaise – a UK first. Available in Classic, Olive & Lemon and Horseradish, each jar is made using a blend of 100% light olive oil, British free-range egg yolk, apple cider vinegar and a pinch of pink Himalayan salt. The result is a mayonnaise that’s free from sugar, grains and dairy, but still has that all-important creaminess.
Snackzilla Oat Cookies
Snackzilla is a new soft-baked oat cookie brand made especially for children. Launched exclusively in Sainsbury’s in September, the company was created by Marieke Syed, a mother who was frustrated at not being able to find healthier, filling snacks for her older children. The cookies – which contain 50% less sugar than the average sweet biscuit, are 99 calories each, are high in fibre, vegan, and free from artificial colours, flavours or preservatives – come in two flavours – Chocolate and Golden Syrup. Best of all, for every carton sold, Snackzilla will donate a cookie to charity Give.Help.Share.
