Generally, that means pieces that aren’t too fussy and have a minimal feel or cut. **The fit of your clothes is so important.** Probably because of my background in fashion design, I believe it's something everyone should prioritise. I always feel my best in pieces that fit me perfectly, so you should try to ensure whatever you wear suits your body shape. **The best fashion advice is to find three words that best describe your style.** Back when I was doing my degree, my final major project collection was based on my personal style, which had to have three words to describe it. I’ve used them as the foundation for building my wardrobe ever since; it ensures I stay true to what I love and only buy pieces I’ll love forever. **You can find some amazing pieces on the high street.** Much of what I buy is from high-street brands: I like [H&M](https://www2.hm.com/en_gb/index.html) for pretty much everything – from tailoring to knitwear – and it’s impressive that they’re constantly working to be more sustainable, while still maintaining that affordable price point. I prefer an oversized fit with padded shoulders, as you can throw them on with everything, whether it’s jumpers or dresses **Street style is the best inspiration.** Whenever I’m out and about, I’m always take mental notes on what and how people are wearing things, and even more so during Covid. I look at street-style images on Instagram, too. It might be something as simple as the way someone’s tucked a shirt in, or rolled the hems up on their trousers, but it’s an easy way to think of new ways to style your existing pieces. **Trends aren’t worth paying that much attention to.** I prefer a more timeless approach, but one thing I always look forward to for spring/summer is linen. Linen shirts, skirts, trousers and tops make up most of my warmer weather wardrobe, as they’re so easy to style. A linen shirt, for instance, is great for layering. I love it with a satin midi skirt. **Jewellery is key when it comes to elevating a neutral wardrobe.** From chunky pieces to minimal layering styles, I love the look of gold in the summer as it just adds to that bronzed, sun-kissed glow. A couple of pieces will make your outfits look that bit chicer, too. **A well-fitting blazer is a must-have.** It’s something every woman needs in their wardrobe. Colour or style doesn’t matter, but it should be something that makes you feel your best. Designer bags are a luxury, but they really do have the power to elevate even the simplest of looks. I recently purchased a [YSL College bag](https://www.ysl.com/en-gb/college-medium-in-quilted-leather-600279BRM041242.html), which goes with any outfit, day or night. Having one great handbag will totally transform your wardrobe. **Stay true to your style to avoid buyer’s regret.** I recently bought a printed dress that wasn’t my usual colour palette and despite my best efforts, I couldn’t make it work – it just didn’t feel like me. I love bright colours on other people, but I’ve come to realise that whenever I try to wear them myself, they just end up sitting in my wardrobe. So I stick to what I know works. **It’s not necessary to have a single style icon in mind.** Style is so personal, so it’s okay if there’s no one you always look up to. Instead, take aspects of someone’s outfit and make it your own – I find myself going back to the Olsen twins whenever I’m in need of some inspiration. **The secret to great style is wearing what makes you feel good.** Confidence always shines through and is the surest way to look stylish – so focus on what makes you feel your best.
