Rather than swiping through endless pictures, these days it’s all about video content: upload pre-recorded videos from your social media profiles (including Insta, Snapchat and TikTok) so potential matches can get a feel for your personality. You can then ‘like’ other people’s profiles, get talking and – if you like what you see – set up a date. Here’s what you need to know… [ Save To My Favourites ](/user/login?destination=/markdownify/node/26618) ISTOCK/COURTNEYK IN PARTNERSHIP WITH QEMISTRY ### What It Is [Qemistry](http://www.qemistry.co/?utm_source=sheerluxe&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=press_campaign) is the new dating app for the digital generation, designed to introduce members to people they’ll vibe with every time. With member’s profiles formed from TikToks, Instagram Stories or even random videos such as the last time you were poolside (remember when we could go on holiday \*sigh\*), members can tell what someone’s really like and if they’re going to be a good match. With fun and frivolous videos destined to attract the most attention, the format has already resonated with thousands, with more than 10,000 users signing up just one month after the app's release. ![](https://media.sheerluxe.com/17krUPGlPaLabH0zhDM_P13A6ug=/800x0/smart/https%3A%2F%2Fsheerluxe.com%2Fsites%2Fsheerluxe%2Ffiles%2Farticles%2F2021%2F07%2Fnew2-qemistry-main03.jpg) What I love about Qemistry is that everyone’s profiles are made of video clips, meaning you get the benefit of seeing someone's 'twinkle', hearing their voice and getting to know their sense of humour. And all without having to have a super dry video call. Claudia - Current Qemistry User ### How It Works The app is simple and easy to use. Users can upload pre-recorded videos downloaded from their social media profiles directly to the app. Whether it's a clip of you out having drinks with the girls, sunning yourself in Barcelona, paddle boarding, talking through your favourite cocktail recipe, or blowing out the candles on a birthday cake... anything goes! Plus, there's no need to create brand-new content for it – you can use any videos you already have on your phone or stored on your social media. This way, people can see whether your vibe matches before they send the first like. ### Why People Love It Qemistry is all about fun, flirty and filter-free dating – that's right, unlike other dating apps out there, they're focused on removing the fakes and eliminating the catfishing, so people can match with the right people every single time. Designed to spark better matches and bursting with personality, you can be sure all the people and profiles on the app are real and authentic. This way, you won’t turn up to a first date with someone only to discover they look nothing like their profile picture or, after months of messaging, realise there’s just no real-life spark. Fun and laidback video profiles help to solve these issues, because everyone can show exaclty who they are – resulting in a real-life spark right off the bat.
