The British name has quietly transformed itself into a trusted country lifestyle brand offering the likes of functional outerwear cosy knits and tweed jackets. Here’s what you need to know about its evolution, as well as the pieces we believe are worth the investment… [ Save To My Favourites ](/user/login?destination=/markdownify/node/42974) Created in partnership with Purdey ## The Story If you love a timeless and elegant country wardrobe, British brand [Purdey](https://shop.purdey.com/collections/womens-country-lifestyle?utm_source=affiliate&utm_medium=sheerluxe) has a collection of stylish and functional clothing should be on your radar. Initially launched by James Purdey in 1814, the brand was bought by the Richemont group (whose portfolio also includes Alaïa, Dunhill and Chloé) in 1994, and it has been gradually pushing into fashion and lifestyle ever since. As well as high quality luxury outerwear and knitwear, it also offers luggage, leather goods and accessories. ## The Style Blending modern style with traditional details, the brand’s range includes a mix of simple but beautifully constructed everyday designs, each of which is defined by luxury fabrics. From [silk scarf neck blouses](https://shop.purdey.com/collections/womens-scarves-ponchos-1) to [wool-cashmere blend capes](https://shop.purdey.com/collections/capes-ponchos), [fairisle jumpers](https://shop.purdey.com/collections/womens-knitwear) to [field jackets](https://shop.purdey.com/collections/womens-field-coats-1), if you’re looking for timeless luxury, you’ll find it here. The fabrics are all bespoke, and everything is crafted with luxury and wearability in mind. A refined and classic colour palette ensures everything is versatile enough to work together, and every piece is designed to stand the test of time. ## What’s Next The brand recently announced much-loved British designer Giles Deacon as its new creative director. Deacon’s first collection is for spring 2025, which will debut in February. The designer will create both men’s and women’s collections inspired by the brand’s archives at Audley House in Mayfair. Definitely one to watch for next season...
