I’m staying at [Mondrian Seoul Itaewon](https://mondrianhotels.com/seoul-itaewon/), which feels like the perfect base for my first trip. It’s a design-led hotel in one of the city’s most dynamic neighbourhoods and puts me in a brilliant position to experience Seoul’s mix of old and new. It feels like a peaceful escape just minutes from the buzz of the city, perfect for slow mornings and sunset aperitivos. I’m planning on a mix of culture and shopping, ticking off the Duomo and Uffizi, then spending afternoons browsing the boutiques and hidden ateliers. I’ll also dedicate a day to outlet shopping at [The Mall Firenze](https://firenze.themall.it/en) for designer pieces at a fraction of the price. I’ve always loved the idea of seeing the Alps in summer and after missing out on skiing for the past couple of years – thanks to pregnancy and babies – I’m hoping this will more than make up for it, with plenty of gooey cheese and delicious wine back on the menu. In an ideal world, we’d turn it into a leisurely road trip through France, stopping along the way. But with a two-year-old and a newborn in tow, we’re keeping things a little more practical – flying into Geneva and heading straight to Megève, which I’ve heard is brilliant for little ones. “[Les Fermes de Marie](https://www.fermesdemarie.com/en) has long been on my radar – one of those rare family-friendly hotels that still feels considered and stylish for adults – so we’re planning to spend a few days there before moving into a chalet with friends for a bit more space and flexibility. I love the idea of slow, outdoorsy days – Alpine playgrounds, lake swims and toboggan runs, which sound like absolute heaven for my toddler. After that, we’re planning to head over to [Lake Annecy](https://en.lac-annecy.com/) for a week or so. I’ve come across some incredible Airbnbs with beautiful lakeside views, and Talloires – a small village about 20 minutes south of Annecy – keeps coming up. It's an adults-only hotel right on the beach with amazing views of the Mediterranean. I like the clean, contemporary style of the rooms and suites and the pool area reminds me of a South Beach Miami property I visited years ago. It's not an area I know but the location looked interesting – it's set between buzzy Marbella and the Andalusian mountains, an area of dramatic natural beauty. I'm keen to walk an aerial trail known as the [Caminito del Rey](https://www.caminitodelrey.info/en), in the Gaitanes Gorge’s walls nearby. That changes next month. First, I’m visiting India for the first time, exploring the Rajasthan area. Both hotels I’m staying at are in the national park that’s home to elusive Bengal tigers, so I’m hoping the 6am dawn Jeep safari I’ve booked gets lucky.
