They wanted to create a vibrant summer retreat for their young family, making the most of Saratoga's celebrated horse racing season, when the city becomes a destination for entertaining and gathering with friends and family. ## The Brief The aim was to transform a series of bland, disconnected rooms into a welcoming home that balanced the charm of an American Victorian property with the warmth, colour and layered character of English decorating. Inspired by the clients' appreciation for British craftsmanship, antiques and contemporary makers, the design celebrates English interiors while respecting the architectural heritage of the house. The result is a joyful, sociable home designed for modern family life and entertaining.
