Breadcrumbs # “I Woke Up Famous”: Elizabeth Hurley On The Versace Dress, Letting Go & ‘Celebrity Traitors’ Imagine borrowing a dress for one night and finding yourself on the front of every newspaper the next morning. This week on the SheerLuxe Podcast, Charlotte Collins is joined by Alex Steinherr and Elizabeth Hurley for a conversation that covers iconic looks, fame and a cause close to Elizabeth’s heart. First, Elizabeth explains why digging her old couture out of the attic has brought her so much joy. That leads to the Versace safety pin dress, which went straight back the next day and has since made it into the Met and the V&A. She also looks back on what it was like to go viral before social media existed. Then, Charlotte reports back from three nights on the Belmond Royal Scotsman, a sleeper train through the Scottish Highlands that turned out to be far more of a party than she expected. Alex also makes her case for Elizabeth joining ‘Celebrity Traitors’ – but will she be tempted? Elizabeth is also the global ambassador for the Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, so the team discuss the new focus on breast cancer in young women, why checking your breasts matters and that mammograms aren’t painful. Of course, there’s plenty of beauty talk too, including a skincare tip Elizabeth picked up from screen legend Joan Collins.
