Breadcrumbs # Inside A Watch Collector's World: The Watches You Need To Know What makes a watch truly special? For some, it's the name on the dial. For others, it's the design, the story and the details you might miss at first glance. In this episode of SLMan's Collecting Conversations, we sit down with Matteo Violet-Vianello, founder of Anoma, to explore a world of watches that goes far beyond the usual luxury names. From a sentimental vintage Seiko inherited from his grandfather to rare 1970s designs and unconventional timepieces, this is a collection that challenges what a watch can be. Matteo also shares the inspiration behind Anoma, his sculptural approach to watchmaking and why he believes the most interesting designs often come from outside the industry. Plus, we get into the risks of launching an independent watch brand, the pieces that are hardest to find and why smaller watches deserve more attention. Whether you're a seasoned collector or simply appreciate exceptional design, there’s plenty here to inspire a closer look. Which watch from Matteo's collection would you most want to own?
