5 Trips To Take This Year To Catch The F1

If you missed out on the British Grand Prix, there’s still time to plan a trip around some of the most exciting races on the F1 calendar. From Milan to Abu Dhabi, these destinations offer the perfect mix of high-octane thrills and luxury travel. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or simply love the spectacle, here are five Grand Prix weekends worth building a trip around…

Italian Grand Prix, Monza

5th-7th September

Just outside Milan, the Autodromo Nazionale Monza is one of F1’s most iconic circuits – an amphitheatre of speed set in royal parkland. Expect an electric atmosphere, roaring engines and a historic track which numerous legends have taken to. VIP packages offer access to the Paddock Club, gourmet hospitality and trackside views from private suites. Post-race, fans spill into the streets to celebrate in true Italian style.

Where to stay: Set within a grand palazzo overlooking the Indro Montanelli Gardens, Casa Cipriani Milano is a masterclass in Milanese design. With just 15 rooms and suites, each designed by Michele Bonan in chic, tonal colours, it feels more like a private residence than a hotel. The members-only club atmosphere extends to the restaurant, where bellinis and carpaccio are served on a marble-clad terrace, as well as the spa, home to a flotation pool, Finnish sauna, hammam, steam room and more. The hotel’s butlers can help organise everything from dinner reservations at hard-to-get-into restaurants to private city tours.

Beyond the race: Milan is a fashion capital, but it’s also a cultural powerhouse. Spend your days browsing the boutiques of Via della Spiga, sipping negronis at Bar Basso and dining at restaurants like Langosteria  or newcomer Don Carlos. For a fashion experience, book a private atelier tour through the Brera district, where emerging designers and heritage houses open their doors to select guests. Alternatively, reserve a behind-the-scenes visit to the Fondazione Prada, where the Rem Koolhaas-designed space offers curated access to exhibitions and architectural insights not available to the public.

Singapore Grand Prix, Marina Bay

3rd-5th October

The only night race on the calendar, Singapore’s Grand Prix is a spectacle of speed and skyline. The Marina Bay Street Circuit winds through the city’s downtown, with fireworks, concerts and rooftop parties adding to the atmosphere. The city transforms into a festival of light and sound, with luxury hospitality packages offering everything from yacht-side viewing to private suite access.

Capella Singapore

Where to stay: Capella Singapore on Sentosa Island, just a short drive from central Singapore, is a serene retreat with lush surroundings yet is still close enough to the action. Its award-winning spa and rainforest setting offer a restorative counterpoint to the city’s buzz. Guests can stay in restored 1880s bungalows or sleek suites and villas, all surrounded by 30 acres of rainforest. Interiors by Jaya Ibrahim feature warm woods, Asian accents and expansive balconies overlooking the South China Sea. Guests can dine at Cassia for Cantonese dishes, sip cocktails at Bob’s Bar or unwind in the communal living room. You’ll also want to carve out time to relax in the spa with its vitality pool and outdoor terraces.

Beyond the race: Singapore is a melting pot of culture and cuisine. Explore the futuristic Gardens by the Bay, shop the designer arcades of Orchard Road and book a table at Odette or Burnt Ends for Michelin-starred dining. During a long weekend, you could also delve into Singapore’s Peranakan heritage with a guided tour of the Katong neighbourhood, where colourful shophouses and traditional bakeries tell the story of the city’s blended cultures. For something more immersive, book a private batik workshop or tea ceremony at The Intan, a charming museum housed in a collector’s home.

Mexican Grand Prix, Mexico City

24th-26th October

Held at the iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, the Mexican Grand Prix is known for its stadium-style atmosphere. The track’s altitude adds a technical challenge, while the city’s love for F1 makes for an unforgettable weekend. Expect mariachi bands, street food stalls and a crowd that brings festival-level energy to each lap. For a special experience, invest in a House 44 pass,  which grants access to Soho House's cool pop-up paddock – expect behind-the-scenes tours, VIP guest appearances, picantes on tap and more...

Where to stay: Mexico City’s hotel scene has gone from strength to strength in recent years, with numerous boutique properties opening in its upmarket neighbourhoods like Condesa and Roma Norte. Casa Polanco is an example of this, housed in a restored 1940s Spanish Revival mansion in Mexico City’s leafy Polanco district. Its 19 suites feature cool white interiors, green marble floors and curated Mexican artworks, while some offer private terraces overlooking Parque Lincoln. Guests can enjoy breakfast and afternoon tea in its restaurant, sip mezcal in the library’s honour bar or unwind in its small spa. Electric bikes are available for exploring nearby galleries and boutiques, and a dedicated concierge team curates bespoke city experiences – from museum visits to private tastings.

Beyond the race: Mexico City is vast and you could easily spend a week exploring its many districts. A good starting place is the Frida Kahlo Museum in Coyoacán (booking ahead is essential). You’ll also want to explore the contemporary galleries of Roma Norte, dine at hotspots like Contramar and El Cardenal and explore the city’s many street food stalls selling everything from birria tacos to deep-fried insects (a local delicacy). During a long weekend, book a mezcal tasting or head to Xochimilco for a boat ride with champagne. Plus, the city’s art and design scene is thriving – don’t miss the boutiques of Polanco or the weekend markets in San Ángel.

The Interlagos circuit is legendary – a high-speed rollercoaster that’s delivered some of F1’s most dramatic moments, including Lewis Hamilton’s 2008 win over Brazilian Felipe Massa. The unpredictable weather and tight corners make for edge-of-your-seat viewing, especially from the VIP lounges.

Where to stay: Fasano São Paulo is the city’s smartest address, with understated luxury, impeccable service, and a prime location in Jardins. Its mixed art deco-inspired interiors feature English brick façades, Roman marble and Murano glass. Guests can stay in one of 60 understated yet elegant rooms, all of which have Persian rugs, Venetian frames and views over leafy streets. You can dine at the hotel’s destination Fasano restaurant or enjoy live jazz at Baretto – ranked among the world’s best bars. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a rooftop pool with panoramic city views, the perfect place to watch the city’s buzz below.

Beyond the race: São Paulo is Brazil’s cultural and culinary capital. Browse the boutiques of Jardins, explore the MASP museum’s floating gallery and book dinner at D.O.M. or Maní for inventive Brazilian cuisine.
